Considering that this is a DreamWorks film, and their Universal titles have shifted hands to Paramount, Warner Bros. probably has the home video rights in the States.

This is great news. Hopefully, it will have a sweet transfer, and even better, get a great release in the States soon.

One of my absolute favourites from childhood.

Why was I not informed of this?

I was looking for a copy at a local Saturn store last week, but forgot it wasn't coming out until the 20th. I'm picking this up along with Sometimes They Come Back this weekend.

Comparison between Universal's 2003 PAL DVD and the new Blu Ray:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/67171

Typical Universal Master used by Koch for their Blu Ray Release.
Its ok to watch but not as good as it should be because of DNR.
But it blows the DVD out of the water. The DVD was a piece of s....!!
Colors were awful etc.

DNR? Looks good to me! Wow, the colors are so much better too! Don't think I ever noticed the colors to be wrong with my old DVD and VHS.

Hang on, the Blu-ray version seems slightly cropped at the bottom. :S

Hopefully that's just an error by that site.

Who says that the DVD has the correct cropping?

The difference is not that big. Even in cinemas there a slight differences in cropping.

Well Blu-ray is about presenting an image that best represents the original source. If it is missing part of the image then I don't think Koch did their job right.

If I'm wrong, someone feel free to explain the reason for the cropping.
