United Kingdom Samsung Series 6 3D Conversion

Apologies if there's a similar thread or if this has already been discussed, but...

I'm probably being a noob, but the 3D conversion on my TV simply splits the image in half either side-by-side or top to bottom and doesn't actually make any 3D effect. I've read the manual and can't see a workaround around it. I'm guessing I just haven't set the TV up properly, anyone know how?

I've attached a picture to help.

That isn't for 2D to 3D conversion. That is for making a side by side or top and bottom video line up to create a stereoscopic image.

No, YouTube 3D trailers and videos are usually in side by side format.

Like this:

http://youtu.be/m30eyDv3250

While watching a side by side video, hit the side by side icon to match them up to create a 3D effect.

Not sure if your particular set has 2D-3D conversion to make any 2D image 3D. But it apparently can make side by side and top and bottom clips 3D.

That's all it can do as far as I know. I'm probably missing something very obvious. Thanks for your help, though.

Not sure why you aren't getting the 2D-3D conversion option, here's mine when I hit the 3D button on my remote.

Same TV or a later series? You didn't have to change any settings before that first option came up?

I have looked at my settings and I definitely don't recall doing anything to get the 2D-3D option,I believe it was there.

Have you went into the menu and picture settings?scroll down to 3D and is it still not there?

I couldn't find anything in the manual Phil92. Are the 3D movies working or is it just the 3D effect that isn't working? All I could find is:

Quote:
To watch in 3D, you must wear 3DActive Glasses and turn the glasses on by pressing the power button.
1. Go to the 3D screen. (Picture → 3D)
2. Select the 3D Mode, The 3D Mode screen appears.
3. Select the 3D Mode option for the image you want to view. The screen goes blank for a moment, and then reappears in the 3D mode you selected.

Native 3D films work fine. If I try to convert a 2D image (whether it be TV, 2D Blu-ray or a film stored on my PS3 hard drive) via the 3D button on the remote, I'm just presented with that menu above.

What is the model code? I'm assuming it's the TV from your gallery and I'm having a hard time finding it from picture alone.

I'm pretty sure his model isn't capable of 2D->3D conversion.
