Nine Inch Nails: Another Version of the Truth Stand-alone Blu-ray

News to me, guys. A repressing of a fan-edited concert Blu-ray from NIN's Year Zero tour that used to be included in a three-disc set with two DVDs (another concert and a bonus behind-the-scenes disc) but is now being offered as a stand-alone item. The three-disc (1 BD/2 DVDs) original pressing is listed here: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Nine-...Blu-ray/80151/, but there's no entry yet for this new single BD repressing. I put in my order; here's hoping it delivers the goods!

this apparently is only the Gift parts of set missing the other two dvds stuff and extras although the Gift was the only stuff actually in HD it may be decent

The 3-disc set was a limited run. It was done by a large group of people who took time out of their lives to put together a really neat product mainly because Nine Inch Nails was not working under a record label at the time. They, as a band, couldn't release a live concert with songs from when they were with Interscope, a label with whom they had a falling out.

So, these guys put together a 3-disc set, 1 BD and 2 DVDs from their tour promoting The Slip, charged only for shipping, and it was basically first come first serve. This new pressing looks like the only way to get at least the BD that came with the 2 DVDs. The DVDs are not available anymore, I guess.

The set is awesome, and was only $10 or so for "shipping" a few years ago.

That's not quite true; you can still get the DVDs with this set: http://toiou.org/store/another-versi...ruth-3-dvd-set. The only problem is that "The Gift" is a DVD, not a Blu-ray, like the stand-alone version I originally mentioned. To jerry-rig the original out-of-print release, you'd have to buy the 3-disc DVD set and the stand-alone Blu-ray (giving you two copies of "The Gift" across two formats). Personally, I passed on the DVDs. The bonus disc, in particular, failed to garner my interest.

Ok, cool. I didn't know they were still offering anything. I hadn't visited the site in a long time. It is cool, however, that they're repressing the BD. It is a great concert, and I know Trent put a lot into the way it was set up and all. It would have been a shame if it never saw the light of day on home video, period. And now more people can own it.

still confused...so this is a 1 disc bd that doesn't include the dvds. or does the new repressing include the content of the 2 dvds and the original blu on 1 disc?? i want to order this but want to know exactly what I'm buying. thanks for any info.

I'm pretty happy with Beside You In Time, so I'm pretty sceptical of a fan edit, as far as quality.

Ooooooo thanks so much. I have to have that 3 disk DVD. I can live without the bluray picture and sound but I have to have those extras. What are the extras btw?

I love my three-disc set! I received it in the mail years ago, free of charge. All I had to do was sign up at the TOIOU website and they randomly selected a bunch of people (a thousand or so, I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) to hand out copies to.

I've watched the extras maybe just once, as it's nothing really worth revisiting. Regardless, the Gift disc itself is amazing and, dare I say, better than BYIT.

Is this the live show that used multiple fan video recordings and edited them all together, that was on torrent sites and I believe YouTube, that NIN kind of gave their thumbs up to? Or am I thinking of another fan-shot concert? I'm pretty sure what I'm thinking of was from the "Lights in the Sky" tour anyway. (Which I saw in Minneapolis where they performed a lot of Ghosts I–IV material with Boris opening. Suuuuuper cool.)

I watch this more than Beside You In Time, actually. Most people wouldn't even realize this is a fan edit.

I made my own BD from the 1080p mkv. It is very professionally done, but I don't think it is up to the quality of Beside You in Time. The biggest problem would be that the audio is lossy DD 5.1 compared to BYiT's TrueHD.

The original, out-of-print three-disc version was "Las Vegas" (fan filmed) on DVD, "The Gift" (band filmed) on Blu-ray, and bonus disc (over three hours of extras) on DVD. Now, you can choose to either buy either the re-pressed triple pack which is DVD only for all three discs ("Las Vegas", "The Gift" and bonus disc), no Blu-ray, or "The Gift" all by itself on Blu-ray.

just ordered both. i'll swap out the BD & put it in the 3-disc set, have the DVDs for "Las Vegas" & the bonus features, and give away the DVD of "The Gift." not too bad...
