I watched some of ABC's presentation of The Sound Of Music tonight.
I don't know the TV industry, so perhaps someone can educate me. ABC broadcasts in HD and I watch my local ABC channel, and their HD presentation is very good. But tonight, while watching The Sound Of Music, I looked to me like I was watching a DVD from the 1980's. I would think that a big corp. like ABC would get, or have the right to air The Sound Of Music in HD with a restored version, that would look excellent on an HD TV. Does the owner of The Sound Of Music control how good, or not so good, the version shown on national broadcast TV is ? |
