Sony is giving people an opportunity of comparing the LCM and TrueHD tracks to see if they sense any differences.

Logically, there should be no difference. But, feeling and emotion are all part of the experience. So, perception is everything.

TrueHD on HD DVD has not compared well with LPCM on BD, so far.

As you say, BD has the bandwidth and capacity to permit these "experiments". In general it has been difficult for HD DVD to even offer TrueHD, let alone some choices.

TruHD on BD is differen't than HDDVD though right?

This is why WB has had difficulty including the like TruHD tracks on BD's?

Does anyone know what exactly the difference is? Is BD's version of TruHD Superior/Inferior?

It's different in a few ways. BD studios has the option to include the standard DD track inside a TrueHD track (the NIN BD is seperated). All HD-DVDs with TrueHD are only 16-bit.

Stomp The Yard is at 24-bit, I think.

Hopefully, when they make the switch to DTHD entirely, they use 24-bit soundtracks. I'm picking this one up next week and I'm glad it sounds good. Sony has really been knocking these recent releases out of the park. It's good to see a studio stepping up to deliver fantastic results week after week.

Sony is serious about their quality and the releases since the beginning of the year have all been stellar.

CHAD finally reviewed the title nothing more than gorgeous presentation from Studio or From CHAD.really i enjoy reading review of BD done by CHAD just only a comment.

Quote:
Video: complex challenges of dynamically diverse 35mm photography is answered by a high bitrate AVC encoding that appears to handle it all in stride. In the darkness, nor light, nor anywhere in between, could I find problems with compression. Grain appears to be maintained faithfully without obvious filtering or exaggeration. The video demonstrates an excellent resolve at all distances, keenly impressive in depth of field and exaggerated image depth. Detail looks naturally transparent – crystal at times. Even the very shaky camera work early on is crisply handled with dynamic eye appeal."

Audio: i guess you should read the Post.

Conclusion i like this statement:

Another day and date release for the BD format, with all the trimmings of the DVD, but the profoundly improved audio and video of the next generation of packaged media. Sony’s streak of high quality video continues. And with TrueHD they’re trying something new.

Exclamation HELP! Playback issues!

I'm having issues playing this movie on my PS3. When I insert the disc, it goes to a black screen like it's trying to load the movie, then after a few seconds it goes back to the main PS3 page.

Mine plays perfectly. Try rebooting the PS3 to see if that helps you out.

I got it to work! YAY!~
I had changed the BD/DVD region to 'Canada', because that's obviously where I live and it wouldn't work.

I ended up just changing the region back to 'USA', and now it works fine!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!

(Kinda stupid that it wouldn't work with the Region set as 'Canada', after all it's the same region as the 'USA' and 'Japan'...)
