It also seems that the PS3 is getting HBO GO soon ![]() and the PS4 is strongly hinted [UPDATE]: Confirmed on Jan. 16th http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/...ps4-to-follow/ the service was posted too soon and then removed on http://us.playstation.com/ps4/entertainment/index.htm which prompted comments just as such ![]() They even have the logo ready to fire up once all the negotations between HBO and Sony are done cf source code Quote:

I know there were a couple that had icons in the XMB that would install once launched the first time but you could never remove the icons (even with the app deleted). Netflix is one of them. Music and Video Unlimited might also be the same.

I'm hoping to get a YouTube, HBO Go, and Flixster app soon. Then I won't be so sad not renewing my XBox Live account in a couple weeks.
![]() I would also like a a standalone Twitch app but, frankly, I actually prefer using Twitch through the PS4 or even Wii U internet browser over the XBox app... |

From everything I've read SONY and MS both don't have an issue with Skype on PS4 (it's already on Vita). I think the holdup is how it's behind a paywall on One and SONY probably doesn't want it to be behind one on PS4.

Flixster and HBO Go will be the absolute BEST. I have an ultraviolet movie collection over 200 now and hate VUDU (they suspended my account over an issue that happened over a year ago and was cleared). HBO Go is my best friend and I don't have a 360 anymore so I'm just...so thrilled to hear this possible news. I'lll be keeping my ears open to this for sure! Thank you, OP

HBO Go confirmed.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/...ps4-to-follow/ Earlier this evening at the inaugural Buzzfeed Brews event in New York City, HBO CEO Richard Plepler announced that HBO and PlayStation have partnered to offer the popular HBO GO app − first on PlayStation 3, with PlayStation 4 to follow. HBO Go is en route to PlayStation. While there isn't a release window for the premium service's streaming app, Sony's VP of business development assures it'll be "soon" for the PS3, with the PS4 version to follow. However, we do know that as with other streaming services on the platforms (including Amazon Instant Video and Netflix), the app's functionality won't be locked behind a paywall, like it is on Sony's biggest console rival. |

I don't use Twitter but I did create an account there so I could post my screenshots to it. I have all my twitter stuff private though so no one can see them. I just use it as a middle step so I can save the pic to my computer. I had a facebook account already but I was afraid to use it for fear everything would show up in my feed. If I could ensure that the photos, videos posted there are private (only me), I probably would have gone that route instead. Hopefully they open things up soon though that FB and Twitter aren't needed at all. |
