Default Top Gun going to be released?

I cannot find anything about Paramount re-scheduling this film for a Blu-ray release. Is it now May 20th as well? And yes, I did a forum search and it yielded no results.

It will be released this year I'm sure but it can't be RE-released since it's never been released on Blu-ray....ever.

Yeah, but Face/Off was not released here ever and was scheduled for October 30, 2007 (same day as Top Gun was scheduled) and is being released May 20 just like everything else. I want me some Top Gun in HD!!

last I saw it was on VHS so the HDDVD on a 1080p TV using a a-30(1080p), IMO looked awesome. Gotta remember those A-2 and A-3 players are 1080i

That looks like the edited version with a running time of 109 minutes. No doubt they'll edit out the swearing that was originally in the theatrical version as well as edit the part where Tom Cruise speeds off on his motorbike while yelling 'Yahoo' as a pilot takes off from the airfield.

That is one of the best scenes. How can they leave that out?

I must never have seen the unedited version. I remember him speeding down the airfield on his motorcycle and pumping his fist as the plane was taking off... don't remember a "yahoo" though...

The master was cleaned up for the 2006 SE DVD. Paramount does like their DNR. Italian Job looked like crap because their master was crap, and even looked crappy on the DVD. Top Gun was shot Super35 (low res to begin with) 20 years ago on cruddy 80s film stock. Definately do not expect miracles
