Default What's the point of feedback forum if mods don't bother

....listening to our requests?

- Users been complaining how the forums are defragmented, too many forums

Too many defragemented forums:
- discourage lively discussions, cause most of the time users don't know where to look for what topics
- hard to maintain

It's understandable if you have 150-200K members, but if you only have 30K members and 3/4 of those are not active why bother with so many forums???

Have you made the sacrifices necessary to earn their favor? Depending on the moderator, you might have to behead and offer up on an altar anywhere from 10-500 Alpine Mountain goats. They prefer the females of the species. Bit hard to find these days, I remember I had to sacrifice several elderly Emu to incur their favor the last time I called upon them.

We do listen to feedback/requests and if we think that the changes that are suggested are good we usually implement them right away.

I believe we've already stated our position on this, but what it comes down to is that we have to consider what's best for the site in the long-term (over a period of many years). You stated that when we have 150k-200k members it makes sense to have more sub forums and that's exactly the reason we've tried to design a forum layout that will scale with the rapid growth. If we were to merge the forums into just a few mega forums it would be near impossible to go through all posts and manually split them into the correct forums later, so we're basically trying to think ahead and avoid these problems all together.

If you have any suggestions how we solve this problem then we might consider your suggestion.

I have adapted to the new format, like it. Just the general discussion is gone and evidently it has decreased the moving and merging on the mod team. So it must have worked

yeah.... I can usually either find what I'm looking for, or find the appropriate place to share my thoughts, delusions, links and hallucinations.

Why did you have to start another thread on the same subject when you already had one going recently, Petra?

I think Marwin has made it patently clear by now. Having a forum with a more specified breakdown of boards has worked wonders on directing discussion to the correct place. General Discussion was a headache and a half to moderate, as a slew of n00bs and other less attentive types posted irrelevant threads there all the time.

The forum is easy to navigate, I haven't had any problems..."If it's not broke, don't fix it..."

I am not sure where any problems lie myself, I find the forums to be well organized and neat.
