Default Quantity in stock at Amazon, significant?

I was just wondering, is it reasonable to assume that Amazon is stocking quantities of BD and HD DUD relative to the amount of sales they are seeing for each respective format?

As we know, sales rank is not really an accurate way to judge sales, so if my assumption above is correct, we can get a pretty good idea of how the formats are actually selling.

Based on the current quantities in stock, which I got from the product wars, http://www.eproductwars.com/index.cfm, Amazon has 70K BD, 19K HD DUD. So from this, we can estimate that BD is outselling HD DUD by roughly 7:2 at Amazon.

Additionally, quantities of BD have more than tripled since the beginning of march, while HD DUD quantities have only gone up 50%. This means that sales of BD have gone up 300% in the same time HD DUD sales have only gone up 50%.

So much for the cheap player argument.

Maybe HD-DVD drop-ships their titles? They could be using a different distribution method or else the numbers are completely off.

Also take a look at the number of items that can ship today.

They weren't that different, last I checked.

But yeah, numbers in stock of BR are growing compared to HD-DVD. Noticed a jump recently.

It's only reasonable to assume Amazon believes blu-ray is going to win out. Stock does not directly relate to sales, though.

And, why do we need to say "HD DUD"? I've been seeing it a lot recently. We're better than those who say "Blew ray" and call us "smurfs".

We can say it because it's actually true.

Well, obviously. Still, respect thy enemy. Make them the ones that come across as fanbois.
