Be sure to mail your return in a timely manner, because this year, filing taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that can be explained using the Q and A format:

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.

Basically I am getting back 5% of what I paid in taxes this year.

Also...NEXT year, be sure to tell you accountant to file a section C for the small
start up business you "started" that didn't take off.

You opened a small side business (out of your home) to better educate people on new HD-Technology, which went under when the HD War ended.

Why do this???

You can right off Allllllllllllll of your blu rays, your new tv, your new receiver and anything else you bought in order to better educate your "clients"

No tax ID is required for this and it could also be filed under hobbies, but you ARE allowed to write this stuff off ;o )

our spawn is due any day now, heard that I may get something next year b/c of it, not sure though.

also, if you made more than 150k, you're checks steadily decrease...

I have 3 kids but my stimulus rebate is cut in half because the federales say I'm too rich.

Our income has cut us out of a check.... I'd have to check by how much.... but we were tossing around the idea of filing separately, but in the end, we had to file jointly for other various complicated reasons.

We can't sell our home this year, because the capital gains would put us in the poor house (as the house was "gifted" to us)
