Default Is there a TV Converter to make look HD?

Is there a TV Converter? Available for cable T.V. to make my picture look not as blurry? Something to make it look like HD, but not have to subscribe to Direct T.V. HD. Name's of brand or web link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no substitute for HD subscription in some form or another. How ever given your TV you should be able to receive over the air HD channels depending on your location.

I do get about four HD channels, but I'm looking for a device that make's the quality of a NTSC signal."Automatic Format Converter takes the standard NTSC signal (cable or satellite signal) and boosts picture quality to high definition level."

The Pioneer system does it! Anything available for my T.V.?

Automatic Format Converter with PureCinema

Automatic Format Converter takes the standard NTSC signal (cable or satellite signal) and boosts picture quality to high definition level. PureCinema works in unison, automatically detecting NTSC 3/2 film based sources and instantly recreating the picture, frame by frame. The end result is an incredible film like picture.

I doubt it. Dvd's are easily upscaled because they are already in Widescreen format. SD TV's resolution wouldn't fair well.

Sorry pal. That's like asking if there's a way to turn shit into gold. As people have said before, it's all about the sources - garbage in, garbage out. If your cable looks like crap already, there's really nothing you can do to make it better, let alone make it look like HD.

It just amazes me that there are so many people that are willing to spend the money for a beautiful TV, Blu-ray Player, Elite this and that. But dont want to spend a few more dollars on HD broadcasting or a decent HDMI cable.
Sorry, I'm not attacking, but I run into this alot. A friend of mine picked up the 40"XBR3 for $2500.00 but wouldn't shut up about the $100.00 HDMI Cable.
