USA Mysterious Skin (Director's Special Blu-Ray Edition) - March 18, 2014!!

Source: Amazon

Quote:
On Over 50 Critics' Top Ten Lists Including The New York Times, The Village Voice, And Premiere

Director Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin, adapted from Scott Heim's acclaimed novel, is an intensely powerful chronicle of childhood innocence lost. The film features starmaking turns from Joseph Gordon-Levitt (TV's Third Rock from the Sun) and Brady Corbet (Thirteen) alongside outstanding performances from co-stars Michelle Trachtenberg (Eurotrip, Ice Princess), Mary Lynn Rajskub (TV's 24) and Academy Award® nominee Elizabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas).

At the age of eight, Kansas youngsters Neil and Brian played on the same little league baseball team. Now, ten years later, the two boys couldn't be more different. Neil is a charismatic but emotionally aloof male hustler while Brian is a nervous introvert obsessed with the idea that he has been abducted by a UFO. When the boys' parallel lives inevitably intersect, the pair unearth dark, repressed secrets on a harrowing and unforgettable journey of self discovery.

Wow. This is great news. An incredibly powerful film. Really disturbing, but good. (I feel like I should be more articulate, but some films make that a bit more difficult than others...)

Thanks, Akijama.

VERY EXCITING.
I didn't love this film as much I love Araki's other projects but I'd get it when it lowers in price.

Kaboom down
Now Mysterious skin...GREAT NEWS, I hope they keep the froot loops on the disc.

Now all we need is Nowhere, Doom Generation, and Totally F**cked Up and I'll be happy. Hopefully in a Trilogy package.

This is great.

I'm probably going to buy this. Are Strand going to start using lossless audio on their BDs? I was disappointed that both Boonmee and Post Tenebras Lux are only lossy.

Oh, man. Is Kaboom available on Blu-ray? I love it.

Fantastic, smart and very moving film by a director whose glib, disaffected hipster stance I usually loathe. Will probably get this, though the film is such a downer that I'm not sure how often I can watch it.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I believe this to be his best, most mature work.

It's extremely disturbing but endearingly rewatchable.

It's the Gregg Aaraki film for people who usually hate Gregg Araki's films.

Been wanting to see this for awhile. Never bought the DVD. It's times like these where I'm hopeful that I can continue to hold out on unreleased on Blu-ray titles.

I love this movie. I saw this movie the same time I saw, My Own Private Idaho and L.I.E. (which is one of my favorites). I can only hope the latter two will one day see a Blu Ray release like Mysterious Skin is!
