Default Samsung LN52A750 Series 7 HDTV Thread

Anybody got this LCD or hear good/bad about it. I seen it up close and read the spec's on it and it seems pretty good. I was looking to get it this week, CC has a decent sale online.

does anyone know the difference between the 650 and 750 series? I looked at the specs side by side and couldnt find ANYTHING different...let alone anything worth the 400ish dollar difference.... anyone know?

Also I dont mind the "TOC" but does anyone know if/when they will be coming out with pure black bezels?

The TV is GORGEOUS and Im very interested in picking one up...just need to know these few things...

Also keep an eye on amazon pricing. I have had the TV in my cart for the past week and it has fluctated up and DOWN by a good 200-300 bucks.... it went back UP 100 bucks today.

From what i found out already was the 750 has a integrated subwoofer, it also has DLNA features for streaming audio/video, and the 650's bezel is rounded while the 750 is square.

Hmm interesting. What is the DLNA stuff? I guess Ill do some googling on it.

I dont care about the subwoofer as it will be hooked up to a surround sound setup. So if those are the only difference I might just save the money and pick up the 650...unless the DLNA is something I would want.

Although for only about 200-300 dollar difference at that point I guess it doesnt matter TOO much.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just checked out DLNA...its interesting but not a big help if the other products you have dont have it. The woofer I dont care about. So it seems its not worth the extra couple hundred bucks.

Do you know (or anyone) if they will be offering these in pure black bezel instead of TOC?

Checked it out myself and just picked up the LN52A650.

The 750 has DNIE Pro which actually you are going to want to turn off anyways. Also from what i read the 750 has a 6ms response time as where the 650 has a 4ms response. I think for the price difference i would much rather have the 650 and save the cash, which i did.

The only thing that would have changed my mind was led backlighting but the 7 series does not have that.

As far as the integrated subwoofer, that would not interest me in the least seeming there will be no sound coming from the television itself.

I messed around with the settings for a while at the local Best Buy. Other than the picture having a little redness to it straight out of the box, couldnt ask for much more. That was an easy fix. Blacks are extremely good for a lcd.

Id love to do that for you but its in the process of transferring to the store from another store so i can pick it up. They didnt have it in stock. I was in two different Best Buys looking at it though. One was lit pretty well and the other was darker. Picture looked great at both stores and in either case the red doesnt stand out like the pictures show. Saw Pirates 2 and Dave Matthews along with the crappy Best Buy feed.

Heh nice..yeah I stood in CC the other day just watching it for like an hour haha....

One more question if you dont mind (and if you know the answer) is the 120hz auto motion able to be turned OFF or down?

I think its GREAT for sports but for regular shows and movies I dont like the way it makes it look.... so I would like the option to turn it off completely or at the very least turn it down a LOT.

Any insight?

i have the 52a650. the price difference wasnt worth it for the 750, imo. also , i have heard of a halo effect going on with the 750's. i am really enjoying the 650 so far. i have had it almost two weeks now. the 650 basically has the same picture of the 750 but has a swivel stand , which is important for my setup so i can rotate the set to face my bed if i want. the picture of both sets is great .

here's a pic:

I got the LN46A750 two days ago and it looks amazing...the red around the bezel doesnt stand out as much as I thought it would...the sound is pretty good for coming out of a tv...there are a lot of options to tweak the settings...its on sale at best buy right now for 2679.99
