I recently ordered an item that dipped in price from my original amount but I paid with a gift card. Previous purchases automatically received a refund for the difference when paying with a credit card. Do you actually have to contact customer service to receive an adjustment if paid with a gift card or rewards points? This is a first for me. Thanks.

You better to contact customer service right now, they will refund you the difference promptly. On the other hand, I returned a broken item back to Amazon few weeks ago, and they even didn't refund back to my account until I called them to take a look! I have never came across this problem before.

Thanks for the advice. I emailed them and they refunded the difference. Its funny but on the website it states that under the pre-order price guarantee description that if you paid with a credit card they will automatically charge you the lowest shipping day price. Then it states that if you paid in another manner (ie gift card) to contact customer service. I guess thats what I will have to do going forward.
