Announcements like this really get me excited! I love seeing the obscure films make it to blu ray. It gives me hope that The Prey, The Final Terror, Funeral Home and other lesser known films might make it to blu ray one day.

I don't see any confirmation in that link, and "We'll see.." isn't exactly definite. Hopefully this won't be another Creature/Chopping Mall scenario.

Are we witnessing the birth of another horror-centric Blu-ray label? If so, bring it on! We desperately need a distributor that specializes in slasher movies. I'm not liking the sporadic and temperamental slasher release patterns of companies like Shout Factory, who seem to be shying away from the subgenre. Horror, like sex, sells

So,this is an amazing 1984 slasher film? Not really. Great to hear about this new cult label though.

There have been a lot of empty promises lately, hopefully this isn't like that.

I thought his "we'll see" was directed at the deal being closed. not whether it would be bluray or not.

I am hoping a Blu-ray happens, I have never seen this before but by going by the reviews it's worth watching.

I really want this movie on blu ray! Keeping my fingers crossed that Slasher//Video can become the next niche cult label to successfully transition to blu ray!

True story, though I'd buy this even if the entire cover consisted of nothing but their logo :P Can't wait for this on blu. Edge Of The Axe next please

Zero budget obscure slasher with a cult following of some sorts. It can be a hard watch for first time viewers. If you happen to enjoy Scream (1981) you will most likely get a kick out of Satan's Blade. Same production values, though Satan's Blade is a bit more "coherent" and offers more plot/action.

Makes you wonder why other DVD companies never released this. Satan's Blade is certainly not unknown, but far from being a popular 80s slasher either.

A lot of people dismissed Scream '81 as a waste of time but I actually enjoyed the heck out of it. I don't care about it being incoherent or slow, I just loved the atmosphere of it, the character's situation, etc. So, yeah, I'm rooting for a well-mastered BD of Satan's Blade. And I love the name of this label, "Slasher Video". Reminds me of old Vestron videotapes.

I loved Scream '81 as well. The goofy slashers are pure fun, but I really enjoy the slower paced ones as well, like Final Exam.

I'm extremely excited for this release, but I can't imagine anyone who isn't a hardcore '80s slasher aficionado getting much out of it. I really enjoy the film, but it's definitely lower tier in the '80s slasher cannon (but still far from the bottom). It is better than Scream ('81) though, and certainly the best film Slasher // Video has released by a long shot.

Seeing it sourced from a 35mm negative should be a whole new viewing experience. Can't wait to see what else this company digs up.

Wow, just looked up that trailer. I haven't seen the film in a LONG time, but that makes it look much better than I remember.

I seem to remember there being a lot of long shots, and everything shot from a distance to keep everyone in frame. But maybe it was just a murky VHS? Now I really think this blu-ray is going to be a whole new experience.
