I have been the proud owner of the Arcam AVR 600 since it came out. Have not had a chance to update my signature here. I justpurchased the Sony XBR-65X900A,which should be here next week, my HX929 will be moved to another room, since I upgraded my tv, I had to go and upgrade my receiver. I like to keep up to date on all the latest stuff out there. I can't wait to get everything all hooked up. When I do I will post a few pics and review.

congrats on the AVR upgrade. I keep thinking to myself, If I upgrade AVRs one day should I try the Arcam 380/450? might have to... but the anthems look nice too. we'll see one day
looks like youre going to get some Dynaudios next huh? which Focus are you looking into? I love the 160/210C combo I have with my setup. |

I am thinking of going with the 340 and 210C. I also want a rear channel, what do you thing about using the 160 on stands? I don't even know if you can hang these on the wall. Speaker upgrade will be the last piece of my puzzle. How long have you had the Focus? John

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the info. I am in a different house now than the one that is in my profile pic that is here. Thanks for the info. I want to set everything up so it sounds perfect,so maybe something smaller might be better to go with. Don't want to spend more money than I have to and it be overkill for my living room. Right now, I am stuck renting a house, and will be looking to buy something later on down the road,so maybe I will just keep the KEF's until then. It never ends with the upgrade bug! John |

The 260s can provide all the bass you want if you want something smallish with very good dynamics. When I had a pair if them in my house for testing, my old sub gave out and I ran the 260s full range and movies never lost impact. They are rated to 32hz but I kid you not if hey handled 25 hz much better then I expected. The 160s are close but if pushing lower 30hz frequencies at high spls they'll bottom out but down to 40 hz they'll handle just about anything very well and very dynamically. Of course you could get the focus speakers and find an older pair of focus 110s for surround use, they're a surprisingly good small speaker.
How big is your room? Mine is 16 wide and 14 deep, with an attached 9x9 dining room. The 160d can at loud in there. |

I just upgraded from the Arcam AVR 600 to the AVR 750, didn't think things could get much better, my AVR 600 was fantastic. Well let me just say, night and day difference between the AVR 600 and AVR 750! So happy that I upgraded, now it's time to get some new speakers!

I am going to check out the Dynaudio Focus series and the PSB Synchrony Ones. The soundstage is so much broader with the 750. With better speakers its going to be much better.
