Default Black Out Curtains

I want to buy some curtains for my widows and came across this brand-

http://www.jcpenney.com/for-the-home...d=pp5003090057

http://www.amazon.com/Absolute-Zero-.../dp/B00G2Y6I3G

Anybody here familiar with that curtain? I want something that blocks light and reduce noise from outside. While also providing acoustic absorption. That material looks like it would do the job?

Here you go:

http://residential-acoustics.com/pro...cousticurtain/

Or you can use what the pros use.....

http://www.enoisecontrol.com/sound-curtains.html

http://www.goffscurtainwalls.com/Sou...Sound-Curtains

Keep in mind if that you are trying to block and or reduce LFE it might not work out as well as one might think!!!!

Thr absolute zero black outs are popular on Avs. Dunno he much sound absorption there will be though due to the material being velvet. For my blackout curtains I bought from half price drapes.

I don't like those designs. It has to specifically be curtains.

I might order a few in different colors from Amazon to see how they look and well they work.

Never a bad idea. If you look on fabric stores they may have samples you can buy. Won't give you much help in the sound proofing but definitely will on the blackout portion

I don't need complete sound proof. Just lower the noise. I remember when I put blankets over my widows the sound was much quieter.

They should work then. Velvet and the lining are dense

Default Black or Chocolate

I got red, chocolate, and black from amazon and put up each to see which fits best in the room. The red looks good, very exciting theater style color, i was close to maby choosing it but decided it was a little too bright. I want something darker so it blends in and not be distracting. Most of the curtains are going behind my TV.

So that leaves chocolate and black. Both are dark and work very well. The chocolate matches the area rug i have. Black of course goes with anything but was thinking maby having all black would make the room look too dull? Chocolate adds color to the room while still being dark. But having all black curtains behind TV would help with the viewing experience(though i guess so would the chocolate since it is dark).

But overall they both look good. What color would you guys choose? I can't decided.

Have you decided on blackout curtains for sure? Because you have other options you can choose from, like blackout blinds and blackout linings.

You can also use a combination of a couple of materials to get optimal results - maybe blackout curtains with blinds - to get maximum light blocking and noise reduction.

You want blackout blinds if

You want a solid backdrop for your window treatment.

You still want a variety of colour options.

You don't care about an entire treatment and want to keep it simple.

You also want to enjoy the perks of thermoregulation, which can save you serious money on heating and cooling bills.

You care a lot about the environment and want to use less electricity to reduce your carbon footprint.

You want something easy to install.

You want something easy to clean.

You want a timeless option that you don't have to update every couple years.

You want blackout curtains if

You like to express yourself with texture, pattern and a seemingly endless spectrum colour.

You want the thermoregulation, and to save your hard-earned cash on your heating and cooling bills.

You care a lot about the environment, and want to use less electricity to reduce your carbon footprint.

You like the whimsical, flowing look of curtains and only want one window covering.

You want blackout lining if

You have existing curtains you love and don't want to replace them.

You have fallen in love with a set of curtains that don't come pre-lined with blackout material.

You like taking on projects around the house. (Though you don't have to DIY; there are places you can have blackout lining sewn on for you.)

You want to save money via thermoregulation.

You want to reduce your carbon footprint and help the environment.

You are short on funds and need a quick fix.
