Does anyone know if the iTunes version of Cheers is 16x9 or 4x3?
The files are HD, but I can't find any indication of their aspect ratio. Thanks. |

They are 4:3. You are able check by clicking the screenshot to the left of one the episodes title and synopses. This is will play a 30 second clip of that particular episode to give you have an idea of how it looks.

I've found in the past that the "sample" is sometimes not reflective of the actual purchased file. Often the video quality of the sample is far inferior to the actual file, so I don't trust that a 4:3 sample necessarily means 4:3 content.
Thanks though. |

Based on the age of the series I'd say full screen, but that's never stopped studios from doing fake widescreen before.
The HD version on Amazon is 4:3. Same on Vudu. Probably safe to assume it kept it's original aspect ratio. Last edited by madmod20061; 01-20-2014 at 06:32 AM. |

Anyone know if these are the uncut versions? The DVD's changed a lot of the music that ruins so many gags. One in particular where Norm throws his back out painting Frasiers house and the whole bar comes over. Lilith and Frasier are in bed and Lilith tells him to break up the party downstairs and it seems like it's working until you hear Frasier on the piano singing "Those Were the Days." On the DVD and in the Netflix versions they replace it with some sort of garbage. It's awful.
Maybe we'll see it fixed on a Blu-ray release someday. |

I just watched that episode yesterday on Netflix and it seems to be complete. It's not "Those Were the Days" but it's still Frasier singing with the gang. I love it when the Crane's phone rings and Sam answers it "Cheers". |

It's a great episode and I think it was late in the series, maybe season 10 or 11? That show just got better as the years went on.
I think it was cut though, because he most certainly starts singing "Those Were the Days." It wasn't the All in the Family theme song, but this one: Once upon a time there was a tavern Where we used to raise a glass or two Remember how we laughed away the hours And dreamed of all the great things we would do It seems to be cut on everything, except when Hallmark shows it. |
