Love this movie!

As much as I love Robin Williams and Gene Hackman, Nathan Lane was just brilliant. He stole the movie. Hank Azaria was a riot.

Man I almost feel funny about upgrading this DVD since I've had it forever. But I think this is a definite buy for me.

The original film is coming out soon from Criterion, isn't it? Seems like a good time to release the remake. Can't wait, as I saw this version first and had no idea it was a remake.

It's already out.

I caught this on cable over the weekend. I came in at the midway point, and laughed so hard that I pulled out the DVD to watch from the beginning the next night. I was shocked how bad the PQ was on the DVD; the cable presentation had much better quality. So I will definitely upgrade. The dinner scene never gets old!

Tough admission: when I was younger I was kinda homophobic, so I've never seen this. Debated picking up the DVD in recent (and more enlightened) years, but knowing it was a first-gen DVD had me waiting. Glad I did.

My girlfriend will be happy about this as it might just be her favorite movie ever, a constant top five and one she will watch wherever, whenever. I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan but it has grown on me and is hilarious in parts. Azaria may be the most underrated live action comic actor ever. Everyone knows his voice work on the Simpsons, but everytime I see him on film he steels the show. He even made Smurfs and Smurfs 2 enjoyable to me!

This is one of my favorite rentals from the VHS era days, hopefully MGM will do this title justice and release a decent transfer of the film.

Azaria was also great in Lovelace. He came close to stealing it from the guy who played Traynor. So did the guy who played Harry Reems. Seyfried (Amanda BigEyes) was just meh in it.

Any news on whether the deleted scenes will be included, be it in the film or as a supplement? I remember seeing this on cable a few times during the 90's (either TNT or TBS) and seeing what seemed like an hour of extra footage.

**edit** Oh and after typing that, I now have that Gloria Estafan song stuck in my head.
