Holland Pompeii 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region Locked / Free]

Pompeii 3D Blu-ray

I just watched the 2D trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming 3D film, Pomeii. I thought it looked really good and was wondering if anyone has seen a 3D trailer yet?

Every time I see "Pompeii" I remember a horror movie I saw as a kid where some monster type was covered in lava and killing folks. I wish I knew the title.

Paul WS Anderson directs with his preference for filming in 3D since Afterlife RE 3D, but hopefully he cranks up the 3D a bit on this one and the next RE6 3D movie.

Caught the 2D trailer and Pompei looks interesting. The interesting point in the film beyond the battles and conflicts of the people will be who is preparing for the unexpected eruption of the deadly volcano.

Will see this for the 3D. If it wasn't in 3D, not sure it would be on my radar yet until I see more of the battles and story.

Caught the 3D trailer and it's upper medium mostly with some strong 3D in there also. Looks promising for the 3D. The movie may turn out entertaining also.

When is this one, Pompeii 3D, in theaters again? Let's see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompeii_(2014_film)

February 21, 2014.

I knew I recognized the star hero. He's the same guy that was in Silent Hill Revelation 3D. Heather's boyfriend. Looks like he is also set for Seventh Son 3D whenever they finally release that one.

The trailer looks quite striking in 3D. It definitely has strong 3D with excellent depth and layering. I was quite taken aback by the quality of the 3D. Let's hope the actual movie has the same stereoscopic quality as the trailer. And I hope they don't pull a "Disney" on us and skimp on a 3D release at home.

A lot of people also like him from Game of Thrones too. He's from the same town as me, although a little younger.

Yeah, he was good in Silent Hill 2 and I will have to check out Game of Thrones soon. Thanks. That's cool he's from your home town.
Had Seventh Son been out this month instead of next year, he'd have a nice string of movies out in a few months time, much like when Sam Worthington got his start with Avatar, Clash of the Titans, etc.

This is gonna be one of the biggest bombs of the year.
Mark my words.
I highly doubt this will clear $20 million domestically

No chance... Lego Movie will be number one for the third week in a row... Not sure how About Last Night will hold up, but it should also beat Pompeii.

3 Days to Kill will probably beat it as well, but not by much.

Pompeii will be lucky to open to $15 million.

Boxoffice.com has an expect 9.5 million opening and total 22 million for the us box office. Just like most of the directors films though it will probably do a whole lot more internationally.

Yeah, no doubt, but now a days it's not too hard to do that, for most films. I've actually liked most of Paul W.S. Anderson's films. Most of them are entertaining, but nothing earth shattering. I probably cut him a little more slack because he seems to be the only person who's been able to make decent video game to film translations.

Mortal Kombat was awesome back in it's day for the genre. It had the advantage that, as a video game, it's original creators (Ed Boon & John Tobias) had actually fleshed out the characters and their backstories, which was rare back then. (Admittedly, what Kevin Tancharoen is doing with the series now is much more fleshed out, but that's the advantage of creating it as a web series.)

I like most of his films to. True they are stupid but they embrace there stupidity. The latest resident evil was terrible though (no suprise given how rushed the production was). I shall be seeing this in 3d in the week it releases.

Good to hear some positive feedback on a movie from fitprod. Mortal Kombat, yes, saw that back in theaters and loved the martial arts that captured the fights in the game. The only thing missing was the blood and gore, which would be cool if they made a reboot of the Mortal Kombat series with an R rating and an updated storyline. They need to get Rayden to be more sinister also. No easy task to make a Mortal Kombat movie considering its video game concepts.

Death Race was all out action, but what great action it was. DR2 was okay, DR3 I haven't seen yet.

On Topic: Anderson's Pompeii 3D out in theaters this Friday. That was fast. One week after Robocop 2014 came out (which was cool but sadly not in 3D over here).

One reservation with Pompeii is, as soon as the eruption went off, the engulfing ash cloud and smoldering lava explosion was said to be so fast and intense, that everyone was frozen in place seconds later. In the movie, I think they'll draw it out for theatrical effect, which is understandable I guess. Though I wonder if anyone was able to escape.

Hopefully there are enough people interested in volcanos and gladiators to check this out, and hopefully the crowd planning to see 300 Rise of an Empire 3D also checks out Pompeii 3D this Weekend or so.

Anderson's next project will hopefully be an epic finale' to Resident Evil.

Will check out Pompeii hopefully this weekend in 3D.

@Zivouhr - it's definitely not going for historical accuracy. No one survived the real event, except some who evacuated before it erupted.

You're right about not going for historical accuracy, but more for entertainment and an "imagine if" scenario. It'll be interesting to see if the volcano lets anyone get away at the end of the movie.

I asked a friend if they were going to check Pompeii out in theaters, and the response was "What's it about? I saw a volcano, but not sure what the story is about." I said it's about the gladiators that lived in Pompeii before the eruption. That's all I know about it myself. The trailers didn't emphasize the fights much, mostly the volcano, but this could look great in 3D.
