Default T2 and Total Recall. WS problem.

Okay soo i bought 2 BDs - Terminator 2 and Total Recall, now they both read: 16x19 widescreen version on the back cover, but only T2 is in widescreen and Totall Recall is in full screen? i by the way play them both on a PS3, and on a 50' plasma HD tv in 1080i, is there anyway to change Total Recall to widescreen?, as i like it much much better.

Thanks..

The only thing I could think of is something whether it be your T.V. or your PS3 is defaulting weird. I wouldn't imagine it be the PS3, but it usually is the player. Are you sure you didn't change the aspect ratio on your remote for your T.V.? It would also fill the screen no matter what for 16 x 9 just to let you know.

It's a misprint on the label. TR is 1.85:1

total recall has a 1.85 ratio which will fill the screen of a 16x9 television and t2 has a 2.35 ratio so black bars will appear on the top and bottom of your screen

Both are widescreen films. T2 is a 2.40 film and Total Recall is an 1.85 film. Films wider than Academy 1.37 (or maybe IMAX 1.41) are called "widescreen" (widescreen film formats range from 1.66 to 4.00 wide) (yes you read right there's a 4.00 b/w silent film )

16:9 displays (1.78 wide) are widescreen displays. With slight ovescan, 1.66, 1.75, 1.85 movies, (and of course 1.78 HDTV video) will look full screen and the same, on them.
