Default Do you play easy games u know u will platinum?

For instance I have gotten 100% on most Lego games I have played on Xbox 360 and was thinking about getting the Lego games I have gotten 100% on for the PS3 just for the trophies and platinum. Have any of u thought of doing this for easy games? Have you done this with easy games?? If I do this I will try to get them for $10 or less, even used if I have too. Do u think this is just sad, playing/paying for the game twice just for digital achievements/trophies?

Are you asking if we think you have an obsessive-compulsive condition that would warrant medication?

Well I wouldn't mind playing a game on PS3, PS Vita or PSP. But to do it for just the trophies/achievements alone is silly. That's like about as silly as people buying games they would never normally buy just for the trophies/achievements.

It also shouldn't matter if the trophies are easy or not. Though that's not to say that it's a bad thing if they are easy (even though ones that feel like they are impossible do tend to get a little annoying). I say just play games you know you will enjoy and just leave it at that. If you happen to get the platinum or 100%, even better.

I just remembered that not all games have trophies on ps3 only 6 Lego games and 3 others are actually worth playing again, When you stop to think about it it's not really worth the time , unless u really have nothing else better to do.

Or you so happen to like the game enough to keep on playing it. I have finished some games well over a dozen times (mostly rpg's) and didn't need trophy incentives to do so.

No, I wouldn't play an easy kids game for the achievements. How do you show off your gamerscore knowing you got it like that?

Only if this easy game is fun enough. A long time ago I rented the Terminator Salvation video game, and even though there was co-op, I played it solo on Hard, beat it, got the platinum. The combat was very repetitive, but I still had fun with it.

I'm not one of those guys who play the Hannah Montana video game (and others like it!) for an easy platinum haha!

But I've come to the stage where, personally, I can't play video games based off animated movies, or Lego video games anymore. My interests lay elsewhere.

As well, I'm getting pretty sick and tired when it comes to collectibles haha, especially if it's the amount GTA 5 has!! But something like in The Last of Us is cool, since you can read about things to give more insight into its world.

In order...

#1 - I play a game that I am interested in or have some incentive to try and see if I enjoy (free or massively discounted games on PS+ and borrowing from a friend).

#2 - If I REALLY enjoyed the game I played, I'll definitely go out of my way to get the platinum.

#3 - If I just "sort of" enjoyed the game, I won't give two shits about the platinum.

#3.5 - If I just "sort of" enjoyed the game and I'm only missing 4 or 5 trophies and those trophies are relatively easy to get, then I'll get them before moving on... RAIN being a great example of this despite it not having a Platinum trophy specifically. I finished the game and thought it was just barely better than boring (I fell asleep 3 or 4 times while playing it). But, after finishing it I saw that I only needed 3 more trophies and that those were obtainable with about an hour more of play time.

That all being said, I would never search and scour the internet for information on easy platinum trophies and buy those games specifically for trophy purposes. I play the game for the game first! I think about trophies after I finish the game and assess whether said game is worthy of spending the time on for getting the platinum trophy.

I really enjoyed Rain. I just wish there were more Chapters to make it longer. Especially in the beginning Chapters. And I'm sure they could have come up with a few more types of enemies too.

I pretty much see eye to eye with you. I've never bought or played a game just for trophies, and I've never avoided a game I thought I could not platinum. I also don't play games that don't provide at least some amusement. However, I am guilty of performing gaming tasks, sometimes unfun or plain boring, just to obtain that last one or two trophies, though only for games that I otherwise liked. I wonder how much you personally endure gaming activities that feel otherwise like work, just to earn a trophy, if you have done that at all.

Like, killing 10 enemies in a row with a single punch after softening them up with a gunshot? Or have you ever put a rubber band or weight on your controller and left for a few hours while the trophy happened?

I don't have very many platinum trophies. So I have to consider if the game is fun and/or worth my time to get it. I won't grind for trophies though, so no The Last of Us on survivor mode for me. Heavy Rain was time consuming to platinum, but I found watching all the different directions the story went to be interesting. The Uncharted games were just plain awesome, so I had no problem going for the platinum with them.

Yes. I have done that as well. But, those have to be games that I really enjoyed. All 3 Uncharted, Heavy Rain, both LittleBigPlanets, Portal, and a few others are examples where I went through with grinding in order to get my 100%. LittleBigPlanet is the only one that pushed me to "rubber banding" my controller for a trophy (24 hrs in create mode).

I raised the difficulty on madden so I would not win every time and then I think I raised it again. But, I don't think I ever got all the trophies in any game so far.

I used to be obsessed with platinums. It happened over once summer and then... It just stopped. I've been a happier gamer since then.

I only have 3 platinums and don't buy games based on trophies. For the 3 that I have, I had a good percentage of them after my initial play-through and since I really liked the game, decided to see if I could get a platinum. In general though, I just play the game and whatever trophies I get during my normal play-through is what I get. Occasionally, if they provide statistics on the progress for a trophy, like saying I've killed 4 out of 5 needed for a certain trophy, I may try to go for the ones I'm really close to but that's about it for me. I've never bought a game because it was supposed to be easy to get the trophies. When I first heard of trophies/achievements, I thought the whole thing sounded kind of ridiculous but I've found that I do like when I hear that "ding" and see a trophy message pop-up. But, typically, not enough that I go out of my way to try to get them.

Since I've owned a PS3 in 2007, as well as a PSvita and PS4 last year, I only got one Platinum (Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, on Vita), and that Platinum I got from simply beating the game. I think for me, it's fair to say no.

Although I will say since I lost my old account, I was able to have more trophies in a year over my old account that I had for nearly 5 years.

Yeah, for beating it 20 times

I'm a little addicted to getting platinums, but not on the level of buying games like Hannah Montana just to get them.

I thought that was the point of the game?

To be fair
[Show spoiler]you can simply just jump to a specific section of the game so you don't have to repeat dialogue sections. If you do, you can simply fast forward through the game. Figuring that out (and using teh Vita's screen capture) I don't have to repeat puzzles and dialogue to continue.
