I really wish there was a good version of the first film on blu ray. The UK one is MPEG2 and not as high of quality as it good be. It's an amazing film and deserves some better treatment. The cinematography of the first one is beautiful.

I was looking for a BD release of this as well. So the UK is the only release? Or is there an AUS release region free?

It's being released here in Australia by Roadshow entertainment in just over a week:

Those specs listed might not be accurate (I'm curious to know where the person who entered it in the database got the info from), you should probably wait before ordering for confirmation. It should be available on Monday the 17th, (JBHiFi always put their stock out early), I'll be picking up a copy day one as will other Aussie members, so the correct specs will be quickly known and shared.

I hope us yanks get a hold of either these movies this year. A bunch of my friends absolutely loved the first Wolf Creek so I hope WC2 will show up at our cinemas this year.

My two favorite mid 2000s horror is The Descent and Wolf Creek. I am very jelly that you Aussies get to see WC2 next week! Post up your thoughts after you see it!

Sorry TAC, I don't know if the US will get a release for WC2 in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately I can't. I have a blu-ray drive in my computer but never use it, therefore I don't see the sense in purchasing Anydvd or other programs, essentially I would be paying for it to benefit others more than myself. I know some of the other guys in the Australian/New Zealand sub forum have such programs, so perhaps another member can check this for you.

You can get this on HD if you still have your Toshiba or Xbox player
https://www.amazon.com/Wolf-Creek-Un.../dp/B000J10KV4

Jokes aside, its fairly cheap to import a Region Free version from across the pond
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolf-Creek-.../dp/B000UYBOZQ

Even Zavvi's limited edition of 2000 region free copies is still available:

Head on a Stick (spoilers)

This famous scene is truly horrific, our heroine suddenly gets impaled, has her fingers sliced off then has her spine severed so that she’s paralysed, allowing Mick to interrogate her as to the whereabouts of her friend. We’re left to imagine what Mick did to her face, and indeed the rest of her body which she can no longer use or feel - in the full knowledge that he enjoys rape, torture, and keeping victims alive for as long as possible.

So, what do you imagine was the fate of Liz? What did Mick to do make her spill the beans? How long would you realistically survive with the wounds she suffered?

The UK disc is rubbish, with Dolby Digital audio and crappy MPEG 2 picture.

The German version has HD Audio and the Unrated Cut (apparently worse), but does anyone know if the picture is much better?

Well, I actually own the 1-disc version Mediabook from '84 Entertainment with the unrated cut. PQ was positive supprise for my eyes and at this point I have no reason for upgrade that. This is one those titles that I have been waiting to appear in caps-a-holic, but there's still no signs for that. Frustrating.

If I recall, when this movie came out there was controversy regarding the content of it. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I believe it was something to do with exploiting women or violence against women or something like that. I saw it when it came out and I really liked it. It's a shame it's not on Blu yet.

If I had to guess why it's not out in the US, maybe it's the reason above. Or maybe it just simply hasn't been released.

Whatever the case, it's available for streaming on prime (free if you have Shudder).

WC is a fantastic & horrific horror flick. The fact that this is at least partially based on a true story makes it all the more disturbing.

I remember seeing this theatrically when it came out in the U.S. (over the holidays one year, IIRC). It was filmed documentary-style, so I'm not sure how much better the PQ can get. However, I would like to see this on Blu at some point.

I see that the Taiwan disc has 7.1 audio, whereas all others have 5.1. Is it real 7.1 or an upmix? How is the Germany disc in comparison, other than having both cuts?
