There still has never been a decent studio film about the Donner Party: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party.
There was a bad low budget movie in 2009 and a few films like Ravenous and the US version of We Are What We Are dealt with it as backstory (it is also mentioned in The Shining) but it's such an extraordinary tale that I'm surprised it got never made into a proper film. Maybe its just too bleak or gruesome, but Alive dealt with similar subject matter in a fairly tasteful way. There is a good documentary by Ric Burns which haunted me more than most horror films, which always made me think that it would make for a great dramatic film. Staying with morbid subject matter, I'd also like to see a film about H.H. Holmes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._H._Holmes, one of the first documented American serial killers and one of the most gruesome tales of murder ever. A few years ago Leonardo DiCaprio purchased the rights to The Devil in the White City, an acclaimed novel about the case but so far nothing has happened. |

The Boston Bombings.
And Ben Affleck would be a perfect director for that. |

Definitely! Have yet to see a proper Viking film. Watched a lot of recommended ones but never got the sense that the writers or directors ever really understood them. The last thing I want to see is another movie depicting them as mindless savages like Pathfinder. I shut that movie off 20 min into it!
I'm half Norwegian so this subject matter is of particular interest to me. I've seen some good documentaries that seemed to get it but never a movie. I'd also like to see a good pro football movie. I've never seen one that comes close to replicating the intensity of the real thing. |

Thank you very much. EDIT: Okay...just checked into it. The movie is already doomed. John and Jane Q will not know what to think of it. The media will try to laugh at it and the Black Metal Community will shun it. Also...the confused lookin dude from Twilight is associated with it so they have already alienated any possible fans that matter in favor of installing their own fan base. ![]() So...I guess I can re imagine my original post and say a movie about the Norwegian Black Metal movement DONE RIGHT. Eeeeeep. Still....Thank you Judex for letting me know about this. ![]() EDIT 2: HAAHAHAAHAHAHhaha...okay...last time. Twilight guy backed out. ![]() Last edited by Lucy Diamond; 02-10-2014 at 04:13 PM. |

I would like to see a SciFi realistic take on the ancient civilizations (Egyptians/Maya) and their encounter with aliens. I would like to see it from the perspective of the aliens as well as the ancient people. I would like it to explain what the purpose of the alien's visits were, how it impacted/changed the indigenous people and finally why the visits ended. Personally, I would like to see the main plot point/twist being that the aliens were not alien at all, instead, that they are humans from the future, when we master time-travel technology. Just a geek-out subject I've always thought about.

I'd like to see a narrative surrounding one family during Hurricane Katrina. With the budget to adequately tell the story, maybe akin to Impossible. There have been smaller projects, but I'd like a wide release. |
