Default AVR 347 Receiver with PS3 and Infinity TSS 1200 speakers

Hi Folks,
I am new on this forum. I have an HK AVR 347 receiver hooked up to my PS3 and 5.1 speakers. When i play mps/ music stored on the PS3, i dont get audio on the rear speaker. I get the audio in the rear speakers when i play a BD DVD/ regular DVD. My audio outputs are set to PCM. I have connected PS3 to the receiver using HDMI, and receiver to the TV using HDMI.
Thanks for helping

From the Audio & PS3 sticky

Why can't I use my receivers DSP?

When playing a CD or file off the hard drive, the PS3 is still setup to internally decode and send out the music as PCM. Most likely you are hearing the music in stereo (which incidentally is how it was originally recorded) and do not have access to the receivers Digital Signal Processing or Soundfields. If you would like to take advantage of these functions you need to uncheck the PCM options under

Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings > HDMI > Manual

It's a pain in the butt, but if you want to matrix music to the surround channels you need to force your PS3 to output 2.1 channel LPCM each time, and then reset it when you watch movies.

don't forget to go into your sound settings. If you do choose to listen in stereo, make sure you make the adjustments so you can have 176.4kHz signal!
