Default Question on "Golden Compass" BD

Hello! I'm a newbie to this forum. I bought a copy of this BD a week ago and experienced a problem with its audio. The disc played normally (with sounds coming from all 5 of my speakers) up until the "Menu" portion but when the actual movie started playing, all the sounds suddenly came from my surround speakers (no sound coming from the front speakers and the center channel) and the sound from the surround speakers came out garbled (no vocals can be heard)

I've checked the audio settings on both my receiver and BD player and am sure they are all in order

Would like to know if anybody here is experiencing the same problem as mine.

when I rented the blu-ray I had the same problem. I have a ps3. So I stopped the disc. Checked all of my audio settings and started it again. Sure enough, it worked fine after that. Bizarre though. to say the least.

Hi WickyWoo! I have a Denon 2808 and a Panasonic BD30 connected via HDMI

Hi Savage! I tried playing the disc several times but it still won't work. I even had my first BD replaced as I thought there was something wrong with the disc but the second one played exactly like the first one

Tried playing "Kingdom of Heaven" which is also on DTS HD Master as I thought there was something wrong with either my receiver or player but that one plays good

the loose connection wasn't my problem as I haven't had my receiver for a few weeks (it's in the shop) So I just played it through the tele's speakers.... And I had the same results as the OP until I fiddled with the settings... the strangest thing. No other disc has had this problem....

I thought there was a thread about this audio problem, isn't it a known issue? I do not have this BD so I am unsure...

there might be. I was unaware of it though, since I just watched the movie over the weekend for the first time.
