Default Blu-ray Day!

Who wants to help me declare May 23rd Blu-ray Day!?

I have already asked for the day off from work.

I suggest we get as many people worldwide to do the following (every year beginning this year, but ESPECIALLY this year):

On May 23rd, request the day off from work or call in sick!

Wear as much blue as possible!

Rush to your local Best Buy and be at the door when they open!

[And of course] Buy a Blu-ray title even though you may not yet own a Blu-ray player!

Paint your house blue! (Okay, this may be pushing it)

Let the Blu-ray mania begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please copy and paste and forward this to everyone you know!

Perhaps we should have some original Oompa Loompa's on hand. Aren't they blue? Maybe some Smurfs? Blu-blocker sunglasses? Blue Kool-Aid?

Maybe some flirty hot chicks to give us blue ba'....ummm... Never mind.

since samsung's player launch got pushed back, i guess blurayday won't be may 23rd anymore... may 23rd is now officially AMD AM2 day.
but i hope that some content producers might still release discs at that date, which in turn might convince some manufacturer to make players available that early - sony's been demoing their model for a while now, so i guess its possible.

Cute promo! I'd say it probably is their new BD player. For a new price of $399. Okay, don't know about that last part.

I'm surprised that Sony hasn't delayed their titles, makes it seem possible that they are moving the date of their player up to 5/23. That'd be sweet eh?

16. This picture is of a prototype of the player that was shown at a previous trade show. The actual production unit that we are showing at CES is black and looks completely different. The actual images will be on the Samsung web site beginning tomorrow, when this model is formally announced. If Peter or someone from Engadget contacts me, I'll provide the current image to you now.
