Sellers do this so they only have to pay the minimum percentage to e-bay and Paypal. Which both get their cuts. A very smart seller.

I don't know why Amazon allows sellers to set their own shipping rates anyway. It only opens the door for scams like this.

Half.com used to have it perfect before eBay bought them. Fixed costs for shipping based on service level. It was fair for both the seller and the buyer and you didn't have yahoos like this guy trying to game the system.

I agree, the fees for sellers are crazy. That's why they have to come up with schemes like this.

That's because Amazon charges so much for their fee's, that if you're selling a DVD/game for $15 you only end up with something like $6.00 after the fact.
