that's a bad selection by the OP, and a bad choice by you!!! I'm going with 2001..... still blows away everything I buy or rent! He's talking "overall" and since "Live free or die hard" is the worst out of the four, it's hard to pick that one!

From your list, I'd pick I, Robot.
From my collection, I'd pick Sunshine. There are other titles that probably have better PQ and SQ but taking into account the PQ, SQ, genre and story line, Sunshine is probably my favorite one (although, some days I lean toward ID4). If you're just asking for the top rated title, PQ/SQ-wise, I'd probably go with Saawariya, The Chronicles of Narnia, or I, Robot. |

Short Circuit, no question. PQ and AQ are amongst the best thus far, and the movie just blasts it past them all

I would have to go with Other.
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe for me so far has the best picture Quality right next to Live Free or Die Hard. I suppose I could have gone with No Country for Old Men because I loved how that looked too, but I urge you to check out those other two. |

I don't know, but out of the ones I own:
A Clockwork Orange: overall, great PQ. Not quite as good as it could've been, but definitely an improvement over the DVD release. Bruce Almighty: very good, consistent image. Casino Royale: sharpest PQ of all. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone: extremely grainy. Could've looked so much better, so a disappointment. Not awful though. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: not perfect, but much better than Philosopher's quality. Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban: very good PQ. Much better than the first two. Bright colours leap off the screen. Hostel: Part 2: incredibly inconsistent image. Some black scenes look fine, and some look awful. In general, a disappointing image. Resident Evil: Apocalypse: my favourite BD. Although Royale has some clear, sharp PQ, Apocalypse looks more attractive and is basically as sharp. Resident Evil: Extinction: the image is technically as good as Apocalypse's, but that had really cool special effects and a nice colour palette to gaze at. The Shining: very, very good PQ for a film of this age. You notice the occasional glitch, but that's probably just a bit of film age. Simpsons Movie: looks really fantastic. Superman Returns: quite good, although a little soft. Thir13en Ghosts: overall, good looking PQ. Occaisionally grainy. |
