The contrast ratio on that is just 600 to 1. That is very poor.
That means your blacks will look more like grays. Get one of these. They rock. They must have had a weird unit if they thought the grays looked blue. There is a newer model here in Korea that has a 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio and one on the way that has a 15,000 to 1 contrast ratio! Samsung is known for Gaming lag (not every Samsung has game lag), even game mode doenst seem to help.
In this list Samsung is the leading brand in game lag: http://gear.ign.com/articles/720/720303p2.html When buying an HDTV, also look at the response time. From my experience reading this forum, Sony seems to be the best rated tv brand. I got a JVC myself, bought it 6 weeks ago, and I am happy with it. I got the JVC lt-26r71b. This tv is a European model. I cant say for sure, that the JVC that I have doenst have game lag, but at least, I didnt notice any game lag. Last edited by mainman; 05-13-2007 at 01:21 PM. |

Those are older models that lag. Notice that Samsung has 3 models below which do not lag.
I believe the response time on the newer models is around 8ms. |

If you're serious about gaming, trust me, you don't want lag. It's better to save up and make a better purchase than buy something cheap and regret it later.

I love mine. 65 inch 1080P Mitsubishi DLP. In my buying search we came down to Sony and Mitsubishi. Both were great and were hard to choose between when side by side.....until you looked at the price tag and the fact that the Mitsubishi screens were bigger and cheaper with an equal in quality of picture. The reviews I found online were great, salespeople at more then 6 different companies all recommended the Mitsubishi (excluding the Sony) before I even let them know what I was already interested it. Bottom line. I love it, And would put it up against any TV 55 inches or bigger.
