Did Sony stop making sxrd/rear projection HD TV's?

sonystyle.com has nothing in terms of hd tvs over 40". What's going on with them? Did I miss something? Did they stop making rear projection HD TVs all together?

On another note, can anyone tell me if Sony has any tv's out that can accept a 1080p source, not just 1080i upscaled in the tv itself? Meaning you set the PS3 to 1080p only you get a picture?

Unfortunately, Sony did discontinue their incredible SXRD line of rear projectors. I think the manufacturing costs were too high compared to what's been happening on the flat panel side of the market. A couple of years ago, the first SXRDs that hit the market were 60" and retailed for $13k.

It's a shame the SXRDs are gone. They present a really incredible film-like image when calibrated properly.

Oh, and pretty much everything in Sony's KDL line now accepts native 1080p signals.

Ok got you. Anyone have suggestions on 1080p capable displays over 60" but less than 72"(no side speakers attached? Any 1080p/60?

There's a 70" XBR at my local Sony Store that retailed last year for $40G. I'm sure the price has come down by about 5-6000 since then...

I currently have a Sony Grand Wega 60(1080i)" I bought in 2005. Was looking for something 61"+ w/no side speakers attached. The space alloted is large enough for it currently, and the side speakers add an additional 6"(estimated) on each side of the tv so I'm guessing I can fit a 61-70" in the same space as the 60" I have now. Awhile ago I got a BDP-S1, and tried to set it as 1080p on my brother's 61" JVC HDILA but, his tv wouldn't accept the format. I'm assuming it does the conversion in house to upscale to 1080p. I might wait until that laser tv comes out but, wanted to see which Tv's in that range can accept a 1080p signal. Any 1080p/60 tv's out in that size?

Actually, it was due to sales of RP falling.
