Metro Goldwyn Mayer Steve McQueen Collection (1960-1968)

MGM/Fox will be releasing a Steve McQueen collection on May 6th. No word on what's included, but it'll most likely be existing titles, rather than new ones. The Great Escape is pretty much a lock to be included, and likely The Thomas Crown Affair too.

Steve McQueen Collection Blu-ray

Includes:

The Great Escape
The Magnificent Seven
The Sand Pebbles
The Thomas Crown Affair

It will probably be a repeat of the MGM DVD set that includes The Great Escape, Junior Bonner, The Magnificent Seven, The Thomas Crown Affair.

Which isn't bad per say it would be nice to have Junior Bonner. For those who don't own the other titles it should be reasonable.

Also Mifine see if you can get a MOD to change your topic heading to include MGM preceding the word Collection.

Since I have a few of his from other studios and none of those mentioned, I'd be game if this was reasonably priced.

It'd be funny if they surprised everyone and released a boxset of Shame and 12 Years a Slave. Looking at the price, it's actually not inconceivable...

If 20th Century Fox titles are also included (and of course if we have the right Steve McQueen ) then I would guess maybe also The Towering Inferno, The Sand Pebbles, and The Magnificent Seven.

I own 11 of his films from various studios. It would be great to add Junior Bonner. I still have dvds of his earlier films: Never So Few, The War Lover & Hell is for Heroes.

I'm in if we get some new releases. We got a nice steady stream of McQueen releases a few years ago but that's all but stopped. I'd love for Paramount to release Nevada Smith.

The Steve McQueen movie I keep hoping will get announced soon is Tom Horn. Warner released it relatively late on DVD (I think it was 2005) after most of his other movies were already out. I remember going to Best Buy on release day to get it, then rushing home to immediately watch it. One of my favorite Steve McQueen movies.

I'm a big fan of McQueen's (only?) comic roles in Soldier in the Rain and The Reivers but I don't think many others are, so blus for these may never happen

PS Looks like I need to check out The Honeymoon Machine for another McQueen comic role

I have been dieing for this movie to come out. It is my favorite McQueen film and if the only way to get it was by buying a $100 box set of movies that I owned all of but that one I would. He just seemed so down to Earth in The Hunter to me. Maybe it was because he was older and more comfortable with himself, I don't know. I love all of his work but The Hunter is an incredible film.

With Jackie Gleason. If only they released it on the same day as "The Honeymooners" (5/6).
