Amazon Region Codes !!??

The last month or two I've been seeing more & more notices on blu-ray pages @ amazon warning of incompatible region encoding, for example:

Region 22436 encoding (This DVD will not play on most DVD players sold in the US or Canada [Region 1]. This item requires a region specific or multi-region DVD player and compatible TV. More about DVD formats.)

but this is just one example of many.

I've contacted Amazon, and of course they don't have a clue.

Does anyone know what is going on with these warnings?
I mean, for one thing, it's a DVD warning on a blu-ray page,
and for another, what kind of code is 22436?

I've purchased many blu-ray discs with this notice and can notice no diff.

I've seen the same thing a few times for movies listed I wanted. To be honest I have no idea why these warnings are coming up, I have just been ignoring them.

Looks like someone at Amazon erroneously added a DVD region code of 22436 as an option. You can click on the Update Product Info link on the product page and submit a region code correction.

I buy tons of Blu-Rays from Amazon and Amazon Marketplace, but I never pay any attention to what kind of specs they have written on their site, because they're almost always inaccurate or incomplete.

And if there does happen to be some kind of error, you can complain to them that their listing had conflicting information.
