Canada In The Court of the Crimson King DVD-A

I went through the threads and didn't find any.

Anyone have this? My nice mailman just brought me mine and am looking forward to a listen tonight. Always liked KC but this album in particular, while arguably not their best (though with them it can get complicated to do the compare game) ITCotCK has always resonated with me and one of those albums that was begging for a surround mix in my mind.

I'll report later

One of the classics, that's for sure! I only have the LP, but I'll bet it would sound terrific in 5.1 as well. Looking forward to your thoughts on it.

And a Steven Wilson mix is pretty much a gauge of excellence, but I'm curious to see what he did with it, in which direction he took this one. If I get a chance I'll give the new stereo mixes a shot, got it from an Amazon.ca reseller for something like $17 shipped. Those new mixes might make it worth a purchase for yourself if you enjoy the album and have a spare $17

A sonic treat! I love what Steve Wilson has done with this disc! It has never sounded better to these ears. The 5.1 is incredible. I have In the Court of the Crimson King, In The Wake of Poseidon, and Discipline so far. I have been contemplating getting another disc in this series. Maybe Larks Tongue in Aspic, Red, or USA. Any recommendations friends?

Thanks for the info, now I'm eager hehe. It might only go to tomorrow after all, decided to move furniture around to better place my gear and I was running on 1 circuit only which always bothered me, though it never was a problem. Ran an industrial 15 AMP extension and running light stuff on it but better distribution. Nyways, one of those you start something and it ends up something else lol.

To be honest, I'm a very average fan so my opinion is very limited. That being said "Larks" was always a favorite of mine after ItCotCK. But it seems that finally we have so much new good stuff to get and I may regret when all gone, but I'm splitting between genres for now with my essentials.

God after your review, seems my break is over lol

I'm slowly buying more KC. My last was Lizard and I really like it a lot. I'd recommend Lizard as your next King Crimson buy.

Steven Wilson mixed XTC Nonsuch is a must buy for 5.1 fans too.

Larks' Tongues In Aspic is my favorite KC 5.1 mix in the series so far. Steven went a bit more aggressive with the mixing choices it seems to me on that one. It sounds great!

I am listening to the 5.1 of Islands as I type this and it is amazing. I have Crimson King, Poseidon and Lizard coming tomorrow. I just got into the band about 2 weeks ago and they have quickly become a top 5 favorite.

Hard to go wrong with any of the 5.1 mixed KC albums, but then again that's because I like all their albums.

Sadly have only listened to this one in 5.1 so far (I suppose I really do spend way too much time online), but it's a beaut.

My own favorite is Starless & Bible Black. As is Court. It's a tie. (Still have the original LPs somewhere or other.)

Need to get on the ball and listen to the rest of them!

I bought the 30th anniversary single editions of the albums from the debut to Red and decided I needed the surround and 40th mixes too.

I was just thinking about buying Steve Wilson's INCOTCK yesterday.
Thinking as in can I afford it right now, I do want it
I have the re-mastered CD from a few years back.
How's the low end on the 5.1 mix???

GAH! USPS has lost my package of Crimson King, Poseidon and Lizard. I ordered them direct from the label so hopefully replacements won't be a problem. Will give the post office a few more days before I contact them. My speakers are in mourning however.

Picked up Larks Tongue in Aspic today. I hope to give it a listen soon. I know it will sound good, just not sure about the music. There seems to be many fans of this who feel it is one of their best, if not there best album. There was a big break from the first two albums and Discipline where I picked them up again. Looking forward to listening to some great music.
