The After (Chris Carter, Amazon Studios) - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone caught this yet? I just checked out the pilot episode, it's been greenlighted as a TV series from Amazon Studios and I have to say, while it starts out as an apocalyptic thriller, it's definitely Chris Carter's penchant for the sci-fi paranormal stuff. I won't spoil it for anyone, but give it a look. It's definitely interesting.

It stars Arielle Kebbel (The Vampire Diaries), Aldis Hodge (Leverage), Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue), Adrian Pasdar (Heroes).

Definitely an interesting series, to say the least. Can;t wait to see more of this series.

Easily the worst of Amazon's pilots. When I wasn't rolling my eyes at the stereotypes, I was cringing at the cheap production values and bad acting. Like a bad Stephen King TV adaptation. No thanks.

Please. The acting wasn't that bad. It was the script and the awful written dialogue. I don't blame the actors or actresses, they tried to do the best for what they were given. But casting Hodge as an accused thug, good grief.

When Kebbel reacts to Pasdar

with "Are you in pain?", I get it's supposed to be played for laughs (not funny), but that's beyond bad writing. No normally functioning human being would say that. That's "so dumb, you shouldn't have survived normal daily life" dumb.

Amazon has cancelled it's series order for The After and no episodes other than the already-released pilot will be produced.
