Default Is the movie 'Sucker Punch' inspired by anime or manga?

if yes, any similar anime that it references or based on?

I wish Zack Snyder never did the boring Superman movie and did something else like it

Not based on any Anime, but was Anime-inspired and apparently Appleseed was 1 of them.

Keep in mind that plot-wise, Appleseed and Sucker Punch don't really have anything to do with each other.

The movie's visuals are heavily influenced by videogames and anime, though it is more a riff from various sources than any one show.

The question is an oxymoron.

The film's fantasy sequences are derived from many sources of nerd culture and were prominently on display with the film's marketing. However, there's a reason why the title is "Sucker Punch" as it's certainly not about glorifying that subset of humanity.

The story is supposed to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland, with the style of it being anime-influenced.

Well, a lot of movies these days have been influenced by anime in some way or another. Not all of them properly reference them, but it's easy to underestimate the influence anime has had on modern American film and television.

I think so as it's live-action manga just like Matrix was.
