Default What is the most anticipated Bluray in 2014?

ATTENTION: This is not a wishlist thread!

What do you consider to be the most anticipated Bluray this year? (NOT your most anticipated Bluray!)
Of course I'm not talking about new movies, because those are released anyway after their cinema release.

I don't remember anything in the calendar that could take the title of the BIGGEST 2014 release!
An equivalent of the Indiana Jones box set, or the James Dean one, or Bond 50 etc..

Maybe I could say "The Little House on the Prairie".
If Abyss is released, that could be it too.

Now that it has been announced, Spike Lee Joint Vol. 1. Really want to hear that new commentary.

I'd say the Batman TV series for me. Interested in seeing what Criterion and Twilight Time announce for the rest of the year, because I have a feeling there will be some must haves coming from them too.

There are a lot of great catalog titles left but there are fewer and fewer 'event' releases and very few of those are even rumored.

The Big Sleep could make a pretty good splash if it gets a US release this year (and the chances seem pretty good). Maybe not Casablanca or Lawrence of Arabia big but still pretty big.

Edit: oh yeah, Batman is a good one. That's gonna generate some excitement, all right.

Of the Blu-rays that I know are coming down the pipes, The Time Machine (1960) is a pretty big deal.

I agree with Octagon that The Big Sleep will be an important release if it does, indeed, show up on domestic Blu-ray this year.

The release of Suspira by Synapse if it comes out.

Rabid Dogs/Kidnapped by Arrow if it comes out.

The Abyss if it comes out.

Messiah of Evil if it comes out.

Under the Skin, because it was my favourite film so far this year.

Gravity 3D when it came out.

I keep hoping for: Krull, The 13th Warrior, The Alamo (1960 & 2004), The Black Hole, Dune (1984 Extended in 2.39:1), Eight Men Out, Innerspace, Maximum Overdrive, Mr. Baseball, Sands of Iwo Jima, The Flying Tigers, The Shootist, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, True Lies, The Abyss, The Village, & Winchester '73. Actually, I'd be happy with any of them.

My first thought is The Abyss and True Lies. IF they come out.

At the moment, based on what we know, it looks like the next biggest things are Crocodile Dundee, The Time Machine, and maybe all the old Godzilla movies.

These aren't confirmed of course, but if they're released they'll be top 5 of 2014 material:

La Dolce Vita - Criterion collection
Spirited Away (Japan)
Princess Mononoke (US)
