Default Pirates in the UK!

Has anyone else noticed lately that the pirates 1/2 have different release dates on 3 sites.

Play sticks to the original 21/05/07
Chocies states 04/06/07
HMV seems to think it's 11/06/07

Amazon is sticking with play on this one!

dvd.co.uk say 04/06/07 as well, and they have been more reliable than play recently. The release dates really do seem to be getting messed about a lot, though.

Unless your in the US and it comes out earlier than here in the UK

Default Finally here

Just popped out to the HMV in Canary Wharf at lunchtime and spotted the 2 Pirates movies on the shelves in glorious BD.

Finally.

They look similar to the U.S. releases in that each BD box comes in a thin plastic slip but unlike the U.S. releases they come in full-width BD boxes instead of the thin versions.

Both discs are, like the U.S. discs, labelled regions A, B & C.

I looked in HMV in Woking at lunchtime and they didn't have any of this week's new releases on the shelves yet.

I don't like the sound of the plastic slips over the cases, why can't they just stick to standard cases for all releases, before we know it they'll be as bad as DVDs!

I'm not fussed about the plastic slips. You can just thrown them away if they bother you, normal BD packaging underneath.

The Canary Wharf HMV is pretty good for BDs actually considering how tiny it is. I still wouldn't buy anything from there though as they cost almost twice the online price! And that for movies that cost £5 or less on DVD elsewhere in the store!

Ah, that's okay if they have normal packaging underneath so you can throw the slips away. I've had some DVDs where the case inside a cardboard sleeve has different information to normal, so you can't throw the sleeve away and be left with a normal disc. The James Bond ones were okay, though, for example, I threw away all the sleeves for those.

And I agree about HMV's prices - absolutely outrageous charging £30 for a BD movie that's £3 or something on DVD.
