Can't wait to see this! The wife and I just received Lilyhammer S1(both discs) from Netflix and loved the show. Netflix is really killing it on their scripted TV releases. Now I'm just hoping Hemlock Grove gets a BD release.

Ah well, it's better than nothing I suppose. Maybe they will release the entire series on blu once season 5/the movie comes out.

Trust me, Hemlock Grove is awful. House of Cards and Orange is the New Black are fantastic, though.

Yet another release in Australia that is available on DVD but not on Blu Ray!

The Australian distributors could have easily used the UK transfer, if region coding was an issue.

Looks like I might just have to pick this one up from Amazon or get it imported from my local BRD dealer… As I would like to view this show in native 1080p (and without PAL speedup).

PS. Bates Motel didn't even get a DVD release here!

I agree completely. I didn't finish Hemlock Grove, and it's the one I was most looking forward to. The other two are more like what HBO produces.

What's all that about? Can pre-orders sell out?

The US Amazon release was way cheaper than the UK release, (according to the price history). As there is no Australian Blu Ray release, would like to purchase a BRD copy of OITNB, but don't want to pay Australian $60+ from the UK (after Pound to AU$).

that probably has to do with them waiting for season 2 to start before they release season 1 so I wouldn't expect it until then... I just hope season 2 actually had a coherent plot since they don't have a (supposedly horrible) book to go off of.

I just checked my Netflix queue and it says "Releases in May" for Orange is the New Black. Right now it's currently in my Saved Disc list, and will get bumped to my queue in a couple of weeks. Then there will probably be a wait for it, but I don't mind, as I always have a good amount of content to watch, between: Netflix BD's, bought BD's, and OTA shows.

The UK release is from Lionsgate UK, who generally use the same masters as the US where possible, disabling the Spanish track, dropping subtitles and switching region coding. If the US release is dropped, the UK release has probably gone too. Lionsgate UK can and do create their own masters, but I don't know if the demand will be high enough to justify it for them.

Also, Hemlock Grove is getting a UK BD release from Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, for the people discussing it earlier...

If anyone out there with a Region B player, gets a copy of OITNB, could you please post region playability ASAP. Reason: Australia has no BR release, looking to import and I would rather buy the US release than UK (if the US plays Region B).

How is this like? I mean... what other tv shows are similar to this one? Haven't watched any episode, so I don't know, and I was thinking about buying the first season after reading some very good reviews, but I'm not completely sure. Is this good?
