Post Recommend me films to watch

I want you community to recommend me films to watch ill watch practically anything from action to horror to comedy to adventure, new or old. I will then say if i watched it or not or will watch it and give an opinion on it. Wanted to make this thread is because im building my collection and wanting to watch first before i buy. Also if its on bluray and has different editions tell me what would be the best edition out there audio and video wise.

Also i below in my signature i got my wishlist on wanting to buy for movies go on there if you are selling send me a PM ill probably buy it from you. Would rather buy from a member then a retailer also buy in bulk to i prefer the slipcover if it has one that is. I know i have multiple versions on my wishlist would rather either one a digibook a double or a triple pack or a steelbook just tell me what you have and ill decide from there if its a multiple copy on there.

This thread is pretty depressing. Why cant people just research without creating these "me, me, me" threads.

Oh, well good. Just simply do a Google search by year or decade for more. I wouldn't put too much stock in the opinions of some of the members on here, though.

it's so wrong that you give Into Darkness 9/10...

How about Casablanca, The Planet of the Apes films, any Eastwood western, Dirty Harry, Big Easy, 3:10 to Yuma (either version) - so many good films out there. Do you have Netflix or something similar? Just pick something at random, you never know what treasure you might find!

I gave Into Darkness a 9/10. Just depends on the person. Not everybody likes the same movies.

Netflix has a pretty good selection in the Classics section: Taxi Driver, Dr. Strangelove, Some Like It Hot, Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, etc...
Any of those should be a good start.

If you want something a little newer: Big Trouble In Little China, Death Race 2000, Desperado, The Untouchables, Dollars Trilogy, Battle Royale, etc...
Those are all great and on Netflix as well.

The original Black Christmas. If you're not a subtitlephobe, Show Me Love, REC, Let the Right One In, Water Lilies...

You don't appear to have seen any Arnie movies. This is a crime against nature and should be rectified immediately.

Based on your list, I would recommend the following:

Action:
The Raid - it's dubbed, but there is so little dialogue that it doesn't matter. The action is just insane.
Dredd
Kick Ass 1 & 2
Rise of the Plane of the Apes
Gladiator
Braveheart

Drama:
12 Monkeys
Apollo 13
Seven
The Shawshank Redemption
Inglorious Bastards

Horror:
The Crazies
The Descent

Thriller:
The Grey - your first reaction may be, what the hell was that, but it is truly a fantastic movie that gets better with each viewing.

War:
Black Hawk Down
The Hurt Locker

Love Clint eastwood films i watched the entire man with no name trilogy loved every thing about it. Waiting for the 4k remaster of the good the bad the ugly hopefully they will add the fist full of dollars and a few dollars more will be a 4k transfer as well into the set. I watched the Christain Bale 3:10 to Yuma liked it alot didn't watch the old one though that was apart of a criterion was looking forward to it though.
