The James Grey film, shown in competition at Cannes last year, has recently been released in France on Blu Ray/DVD by Wild Side.

Anyone know if the French subtitles are forced?

Not sure if subs are forced, however a section of the film is spoken in Polish, so that's worth bearing in mind (lest thee are comfortable reading French subs to decipher those bits).

It's a shame that Weinstein is holding this up everywhere else. Gray is one of my favourite filmmakers.

You only have 2 choices : French dub (most likely with forced french subs over the Polish sections), and original track with french forced subs over the whole movie (English + Polish sections).

The Polish sections are quite numberous, though usually quite short in duration.

I picked this up on eBay, to be honest the forced subs don’t bother me too much as they tend to hang in the black bars than within the frame itself.
