Default Psych: Complete Series? PLEASE!!

Psych is my favorite show of all-time, I'll just start off by saying that.

Obviously, they just finished the series last week and released the season on DVD Tuesday -- Quick turnaround, right? Unfortunately, none of the eight seasons have been released on Blu, which is as equally depressing as the show ending. So, I'm praying to Jesus that USA Network goes the right route and fulfills my wish -- same can be said for Burn Notice, too. I would LOVE to see them release the complete series on BD now that the show's gone. Personally, I don't know what I'd do if they announced it.. Honestly, I'd probably shit my pants quicker than a fat person after eating Chipotle. It would just be insanely awesome -- Day One buy for me, undoubtedly.

Are there any other Psych-O's out there that feel the same way as me and are praying for a BD release?

I really hope so too. I actually just came here to express the same sentiment! I miss Shawn and Gus already!

Totally agree. I would love to see a set like the Breaking Bad barrel but have a pineapple that holds all the discs

I'd love to see that! Sadly, I doubt we do. Tv just doesn't seem to be a big priority on blu-ray.

Oh my god, I'd be so stoked for that. That would be killer.

I just really hope they release it on BD, and it sucks that it's now gone. But it was an awesome eight seasons so I'm grateful for that. Have you ever bought any props from the show off eBay? I've got a few of them, like a polo worn from 'Dead Bear Walking', one of Gus' degrees that hangs up in the office and I think a couple of others. I paid a decent price for all of them, but I don't care because I love that show so f****** much.

Never bought any props, wish I had though! I did manage to see a few of the comic con panels though.

This show was such a huge part of my life. It's so weird, realizing that Shawn and Gus wouldn't be there on my tv screen any more. I didn't get to see season 7 or 8 live on tv. I had moved with my girlfriend and we didn't have any cable at all. I didn't get to see either season as they aired. I'll never forget seeing the show as it aired on Fridays at 10, or Wednesdays at 10. For a long time, my mom and I had psych parties every week, just the two of us. Pineapple, muffins, pizza rolls and pop.

Now.... It'll never happen again. It's hit me pretty hard so far actually. Worse than I expected it to.

Adding insult to nutpunchery, they're now releasing a complete series DVD collection (in pineapple case, of course). If you're desperate to own it in any format, well, it's not a bad deal, I suppose. I own some of the DVD sets (1-5), and they're nice, but damn, why-oh-why can't they release them in blu-ray?!

And let me say, Psych in HD is great. Being a huge Twin Peaks fan, too, I went ahead and bought the HDX (1080p) version of the [uncut] Dual Spires ep on Vudu, and it looks beautiful.

I dunno. I am almost tempted to get the full DVD set, at least until they, hopefully, get around to a blu-ray version. Hell, the cost of the new set on Amazon (cheapest place, so far) is almost the same as it would cost to buy the seasons I'm lacking.

I wouldn't hold your breath. At the height of the show's popularity while it was still on, and they ignored releasing Blu-rays... I see little chance of having anything but my DVDs for this and several other shows of this time period.

Just gonna try to...revive this thread.
Mainly because Psych: The Movie just came out not too long ago.
Do you think the chances of getting Psych on Blu-Ray are better now that the movie is out, or no?

Hell, do you think they'll even release the movie on Blu-Ray?

Also, to anyone who has already watched the movie, WHAT'D YOU THINK?

It would be nice, but not necessary now. Both the series and new movie are available in blu-ray quality on streaming sites (Vudu, etc), and the DVD set has come way down in price for sake of any desired extras, so we've kinda already got what we want, just not all on physical media. I bought the pineapple set when it first came out, and plan to grab the seasons in HD on Vudu eventually as sales allow. It's a plan.

Yeah, I guess, but I'd still like it to be released on Blu-Ray. Mainly because I don't like buying DVDs anymore now that I can watch stuff on Blu-Ray, and I honestly don't like buying Digital movies/tv shows. I prefer having a physical copy, I guess.

Eh, it might get licensed out to Mill Creek one day, when Uni wants to make a few bucks on it.

Monk, too.

I want the bluray too. I bought the entire DVD series and I feel as the quality of the episodes is quite less than par. Makes me not want to watch it on a 60 inch TV. Stuffing five 45 min episodes on 1 disc back then is not exactly quality. Maybe the later seasons are better but there is a graininess. Anyone agree?

Ah, Mill Creek. Bless their low budget, well-intentioned little hearts.

At this point I've altered my methodology by necessity. It seems more often than not a series will have a non-upscaled 1080p version available on Vudu, or maybe Amazon or iTunes (yet to see Google Play have one the others didn't), long before any BD release comes along, if ever.

So, now I just wait for sales and buy the series on the cheap, in the quality I prefer, and just grab a used copy of the DVD set later for the extras. There are plenty of legal ways to download the 1080p eps for archiving, once owned, if one feels the urge.

Psych is on Vudu in HDX (1080p). I've yet to grab it, but did buy the Dual Spires episode. If you are patient and keep tabs on sales, you can make out like a bandit.

(Remember The Middleman? Only ever released on DVD. Amazon has it in 1080p for $14.)

I'll keep my pineapple colored DVD set, but will just buy the eps from Vudu eventually.

Although the show (and Psych:TM 1) hasn't been released on Blu-Ray, it looks as though they are far from done with the story. The creator of the show expressed interest in making up to 5-6 TV movies. That, and the fact that this show is also one if not the longest-running show USA has ever had, and the massive fanbase surrounding it, I am expecting that they'll release a big box set of the entire show, plus all of the movies in the distant future...I hope lol

The second movie is getting a release later this year in the fall.
