Flixster now supports Chromecast

The latest Android and iOS updates to the Flixster app have added Chromecast support with HD streaming. I just tried it out, and it works great.

Supposedly you can also cast from Chrome on a computer, but much like Vudu I wasn't able to get that to work (no cast button appeared in the player controls and using the cast extension in the browser to send the screen did nothing).

Now those pesky UV copies from HBO that show up in your UV library but are only playable through Flixster are infinitely more usable.

Edit: Or maybe those HBO UV copies still aren't that usable since it seems they're "not available for casting" as reported below by chinemaphile.

I didnt know about this, and was just looking something up in my Flixster app on my phone and it showed a message and the cast icon!
Great news!! My phone cant do vudu, and its not working from my PC, so I am so glad I can finally cast from my phone using Flixster. PLUS, i have several TV shows and UK movies that only play in Flixster.

Really? Mine worked when I first tried it after the update with Chromecast was first released. Perhaps they've pulled support for those since then. If so, that's ridiculous.

I can confirm the above is correct. I get the same error when try to cast any of the 3 seasons of Game of Thrones.

So for $35 you can buy the Chromecast and cast Netflix, Hulu and YouTube to your tv from your tablet, smart phone or computer. But what's great about this is that now Filxter is support. So if you have your ultraviolent account linked with your Filxter account you can cast all your ultraviolet movies to you tv. It's quick and easy. Please note for iOS devices you will need to download a app to get chromecast working on your tv and iOS devices. For android devices running google play store I'm not sure if a app is needed to download as my android tablet automatically found my chromecast after I had downloaded the app and set it up using my iPhone 5s. And a HDTV is required as the chromecast connects using HDMI.

Side note all your disney digital copies do not show up in Filxter.

Update vudu app for iOS now can cast to chromecast so all your digital copies including disney can now be seen on your HDTV
