Going to guess Captain, even though Marvel has more than likely had the date planned for years now.

It will be WB.
They only took that date knowing Marvel had already staked it out, assuming they'd run away. Marvel/Disney called their bluff and didnt even blink, and now they're stuck in this standoff.

WB is all about delays anyway, so they'll give it some time and find some excuse to move the date so it doesn't look like they're just backing down.

They'll move it back a month or two. WB has always had success with mid-summer openings anyway, so why would they change that? Summers are largely frontloaded, and movies like Dark Knight that open later in the summer end up owning the second half due to weak competition.

I voted superman.
But it might make more sense to move captain America back a few weeks to Memorial day.

I'm gonna go with Warner. After Cap's performance over the weekend, I don't see any reason why Marvel would move. WB needs their movie to do well; if they move it they'll have a better chance.

They should both stay at the same time, that'd be funny.

But yeah, the film in a franchise with a proven track record will be the one to stay, and the film whose franchise boasts on of the worst films ever will move.

Some simple math

The last two Captain America films combined box office

$700,000,000

The Last Batman and Superman films combined box office

$1,800,000,000

If Marvel is foolish enough to go head to head, they will lose, badly.

You cannot count the next film as a Batman film. It is a man of Steel sequel. Iron Man 3 did over double worldwide what man of steel did. So boo yah
And the last two captain America films are the Avengers and captain America : the Winter Soldier.

Yeah, and you can't count Nolan's trilogy either. This is a new Batman, and it's unproven with audiences. People know what to expect from Cap 3.

Considering Marvel went as far as making a major announcement today that 'Cap 3' is coming out on May 6, I'm going with WB moves. They had the date first, and WB tried to scare them off, but Marvel didn't blink and instead announced their movie for that date. Also, you realize you can't say this is what the last two Captain America films grossed considering this one isn't even finished playing in theaters...It literally just opened in the US this weekend. Plus, you have to add 'The Avengers' into your consideration, because it's a 'Captain America' film as well.

But none of that matters, because the two won't be facing off. WB will move either to March, which has done well for Snyder's films in the past, or to July, which has worked well for them in the past with their DC properties.

Who cares? The fans win either way. We have two badass superhero movies coming out so closely together. When the fanboys realize that you have nothing to gain from perpetuating nonsensical hatred, you'll regret how much time you wasted on it.

I know that if they both did come out the same day, I'd just watch them both, so it doesn't bother me. But they would affect each other's box office, even if minimally.

But in a situation like this, marvel can afford to take a loss where DC can't. I would think BvS would come out on top, but it won't do as well in terms of money if CA 3 comes out on the same day.

That's the only part of this that concerns me. Not which camp "wins" the day. I just want them both to maximize their profits, and avoid stepping on one another's toes. I agree.

I propose a new option: none of the movies move their dates and both play at the same time. Neither Marvel nor WB will back down. It'll be an epic battle of box office profit! Which one will win?!

WB has the most to lose and will find a new date.
