As been said at this point Marvel can take a hit but DC can’t and if you have a new franchise with the reception Ben Affleck is getting why set yourself up for failure with your strongest competitor? DC should move it to clear weekend. One that has nothing going on and set up shop.

WB has a lot more at risk with a head-to-head weekend with their competitor in the "superhero megaverse" category. WB won't take the chance since Marvel/Disney has been publicly sticking to their original release date.

Pigs are Fat, Hogs get Slaughtered

Heres the funny thing

Captain America 2 is making good money - and it was released in March

March

Why not move back and release Captain America 3 in March (early April in North America)

Greedy Disney now wants to hog all the good spots. They've only now confirmed the film set for release on May 6th is Captain America. And they have at least one more 'untitled' Marvel studios film later in the summer, essentially leaving no solid dates for the historic film that is Batman vs Superman

Again, Pigs are Fat, Hogs get Slaughtered

If Marvel is foolish enough to go head to head, they will lose, badly.
Umm, but that Batman didn't have Affleck as the worst Batman ever!!

Pretty sure Warner will move, especially when the early negative buzz from the badly miscast flick starts looking like a true.

If anything last weekend proved audiences want more of Cap!!!

Remember just last summer when badly reviewed Warner bros. Distributed Hangover Part 3 came out on the same week as Fast and Furious 6.
We all know who won that round.
WB was stubborn and refused to move.
Fast 6 was a much loved and critically acclaimed action sequel to a much loved critically acclaimed action sequel.

Hangover 3 well, was not.

To be honest this new Superman/ batman movie is going to need good reviews to become a massive hit like WB need it to be. MOS got very mixed reviews to say the least. Hopefully the filmmakers will fix the first films problems and make an enjoyable film this time out.

Pretty much everyone loved the Cap movies, while Man Of Steel was wildly polarizing. The MOS sequel is definitely going to move first.

No, they didn't. DC moved onto the date when Marvel already had it.

While I think BvS would make more, it's safer for WB to move. Captain america has a movie out right now which is doing well (from what I hear) and then he will be in the avengers 2 next year. Imagine how popular he will be by May 2016.

I voted bvs to be the one to move, but I hope neither do.

Is this a serious argument?

You know what Disney should do . Just to f*** with Warner bros.
Move Captain America up a month.

Wait a few weeks.

Then delay Star Wars VII and announce it will now be coming out on May 6, 2016

It's stupid to put two such big movies aiming for the exact same audience up against one another. WB can't afford to have Cap take a chunk out of their possible earnings. They'll move.

Cap 3 is going to be even bigger than The Winter Soldier. CA: TWS has already made almost as much as The First Avenger did in its entire run in theaters. Cap 3 will be coming off of The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Cap 3 will be huge.

WB will realize there's no sense in playing this game, they need Batman/Superman to make as much as possible, so they'll move.

100% BvS is moving, there's no chance Marvel will shift. WB brought it on themselves though, the MCU has been trucking along for years now and they want to play chicken by throwing their mostly unproven hodge-podge against it? Dumb decision, whoever was in charge of it.

Marvel Studios has their sh!t down. Down to a science it seems. Cap3 will roll in/out of production and we'll be sitting there May 6 2016 watching with our minds completely blown. Supes vs Bats WILL move and Im calling it now!

My prediction -- They both move.

Disney moves Star Wars Episode VII to May 2016, and moves Captain America 3 back to late March/early April or possibly to the already penciled in July 2016 Marvel date.

Warner Bros. may be willing to let Batman/Superman go toe-to-toe with Cap, but against Star Wars, they'll blink.
