![]() ![]() From the website: "Transistor is a sci-fi themed action RPG that invites players to wield an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin as they fight through a stunning futuristic city." It's one of the most awaited indie games coming to the PS4 that were presented during the reveal in February 2013 (along with The Witness, Rime, Oddworld, Octodad and Everybody's Gone...), and it finally is about to arrive on both PC and PS4 ![]() http://supergiantgames.com/index.php...on-ps4-and-pc/ It's from Supergiant Games (of Bastion fame), and it looks like it's going to be awesome (crosses fingers). Reveal trailer: Transistor will be sold for $19.99 in North America, and €18.99 / £14.99 in Europe, available on Steam and PSN. |

Joystiq is 3.5/5
Their complaint was that the combat is really cool to start but gets repetitive towards the end and that a lot of the characters feel wooden. Heck, if the lowest scores it gets are in the 7s (and those are the anomalies), that sounds like game of the year material to me... ![]() |

+ Gorgeous visuals. Wonderful art style, very striking and consistent. + Interesting storytelling. I won't spoil anything, but the way the story unfolds is told just a piece at a time and is very organic in the way you learn what actually happened. + Combat is fantastic. It's like Fallout 3's combat system adapted for combat on a 2D battlefield. You can just play it "action style", but it's much, much harder when you do that. Pressing R2 lets you freeze the action and dictate exactly how your next few moves will be performed, then pressing it again will set your commands in motion. + Difficulty. The game gives you an opening tutorial, and then dumps you into the frying pan very early. The first boss fight took me a couple tries to defeat without dying (and I consider myself fairly good at strategy combat games). + Customization. There's a really neat customization system where you can pick and choose your attacks and even modify the ones you're using with attacks that aren't currently in use - instead you can attach them as upgrades to the active attacks to make them stronger, by increasing range/damage/spread/speed/whatever. - Short. I can't attest to this personally but have heard the game is relatively short (5-8 hours). |
