The uncompressed soundtrack on the import sounds the same as the DTS lossy soundtrack on the U.S. version?

That's Dominique Swain, and she got a lot better from there, considering she was probably only 16 when that was filmed!

I was already a fan of Face/Off from years ago. I knew it would look good in Blu because it has a MPEG-4 AVC codec. As good as Casino Royale, maybe not, but pretty darn good for a 10 yr film that costs under $20.

Don't wait, I found it at Wal-Mart (with their expanded Blu-ray section).

Those screenshots can't be taken from the BD. Those look nothing like what I watched last night. It looked fantastic. I won't deny the DNR issue, but it really doesn't detract from the PQ.

Relax, DVDBeaver can't take direct screencaps. They're just digital photos taken of the reviewer's screen. The BD does not look anything like those snaps. Thankfully.

just watched it (import version) and the Uncompressed track is AMAZING
PQ is awsome Never knew that Dietrich's eye was messed up.

Only downside to the oversea's one is the twisting of the knife scene(s) are gone it just cuts to either the knife being given/stuck in ... The Audio/PQ are so good tho I can let it slide

Finally got around to watching it (Paramount reissue, not the import) - I thought the PQ was just fine and this has got to be one of the best DTS 6.1 soundtracks I have heard, despite its lossy-ness, very loud & active.

Do ya know the worst thing about this disc? Look at the footage in both the making of and the trailer. Both completely untampered with, imagine what could have been. Just look at the detail present, grain and all. Now while I'm happy with my Face/Off disc,(except the shit cover), and it looks slightly better than the HD DVD,(placebo effect? Maybe), it's a shame to see that it could have been even better.

That's why I said the dvdbeaver caps are more than enough to determine if DNR was applied or not.

HDD has confirmed DNR. Time to use the U.S BD as a bonus disc to the import copy and call it 2 disc special collector's edition.

The overseas Blu-ray has less to no DNR.
its only 1 BD.

Default Face/Off - Horrible transfer.

I picked this up for $9.88 at Sams Club last weekend and got around to checking it out and man, this is just horrendous. It looks like the DVD. The DNR job they did on this one is unforgiveable and the amount of haloes and EE is bad as well. They scrubbed all of the detail away. Hands down one the worst transfer I've seen on this format. It makes Gladiator look good by comparison. Very surprised to see the positive reviews of the PQ on here and HDD. Thoughts?
