Spain Correos.es - shipping time and tracking updates

For anyone who has experience with Spanish imports to the US, what's your typical shipment time using Correos.es (Spanish Postal Service), and do they only update the shipping status upon shipment and arrival, nothing in between?

Here's what I have so far:

Fechas Estados
07/04/2014 Admitido
07/04/2014 En tránsito
08/04/2014 Salida de la Oficina Internacional de origen

So basically I know that it left the country. Will I get any other status updates?

It's been my experience that if the tracking number is of the form RR123456789ES and going to your local postal service you can for example put it into the USPS or Royal Mail tracking pages and when the package arrives at those countries the tracking will switchover and show up on their tracking pages.

My typical shipment times from Europe have been about between 11-21 days after shipping for things going through the mail. Or going through UPS Global, 2 days after shipping date. (But also, the shipping date has taken from being the next day after ordering to more than a week after, sometimes)

I had no idea you could put it into the USPS tracker and get a result, that's good to know. It turns out that my long delivery time was due to my incompetent local post office employees. Correos actually got it here pretty fast, then it sat on the shelf in my local office while my regular delivery guy was out recovering from surgery, and his replacement delivered the notices to the wrong house. Good times!

Your shipment will only track on Correos website once it has entered Spanish soil. The opposite in theory would happen if the shipment is from Spain to other countries. The destination country's post office will track it once it enters your country.
I do have experience with shipments from the US to Spain and delivery times vary. The shortest is been 9 days and the longest about a month (from sites like iHerb and Vitacost).
