Default The best deal...for me!

Get this. I've been looking for an Onkyo TX-SR805 right? Well, I just bought one off Ebay for $375! The thing is practically in mint condition! Score for me! I negotiated the price down from $450 from an excellent seller. I am in love with Ebay now!

Yeah, the one I bought doesn't come with a warantee, but I can get a 2 year warantee for $68 or a 1 year warantee for $45. What do you guys think?

Make sure to have a box of kleenex handy when you fire that beauty up for the first time. You will either cry a bucket full of joyful tears, or blow your wad repeatedly and excessively!!! I'm serious!!!

With electronics.... if it doesn't crap out in one year, chances are it won't crap out in two ..... so I'd get the 1-year.... that will protect you probably, because it will fail in the first few months more than likely, if it fails at all......

What a nice deal! I got mine for $600 including shipping refurbed. Has a 1 year warranty also. I would agree with beta man, 1 year should be enough.

Yeah. I really don't feel like blowing my saved money on a warantee that won't help. Seems like the one year will do justice.

Sorry to bring up my old thread but, I've been wondering, since I'm getting my reciever in like two days, what I should do with my center speaker. Right now I have my center speaker on top of my reciever and I don't think it's a good idea to have on my 805. What should I do?

...um, yeah, not good idea to have a magnet on top of the receiver (even if it is "shielded")

...can you put it above or below the TV?

Yeah, I guess I could put it below but I don't know where I'd put my PS3 then. On top of the reciever I guess? I don't know. By the way, the center speaker would be around ass level, is that alright or will the sound be different from where it is now way the hell up on top of my reciever?

Do yourself a favor and get a proper cabinet to store your components in. Stacking is going to lead to heat buildup and failure- don't do that to your beloved PS3.

Also- I'm very jealous of your deal. I'm still looking for a way into a new receiver.

Unfortuanately, I'm not ready to get a new center. If I do, I'm going to make myself spend more money on a bigger TV. Anyways, I do understand what you mean about stacking but I'm just wondering if I do put my center speaker around my ass level in my entertainment center, what should I do with my PS3? Maybe set it on top of my right speaker? Or maybe a center speaker stand for wall-mounting it.

yeah, just place something underneath it to prop it up and aim at your ear level...maybe some folded up cardboard? (or anything that won't stand out and look ugly)

How about the PS3? I know it wouldn't be going on top of the reciever.
