I wasn't overly impressed with Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was incredible from a technical viewpoint (the sound design was extraordinary), but it only did exactly as well as the source material would allow. Hopefully, he learned from his mistakes there for this.

I'm just giving you a hard time buddy. I'm a huge Fincher fanboy. Just don't give up. I think his latest movies have are his best other than The Game being slightly above Benjamin Button. Which I think is being robbed of its quality.

Ah, lol, well, i'm used to hard times on here. It often starts with an eye roll. I wouldn't say i've given up on him, but I certainly don't rush out to see his films. Benjamin Button i imagine is nowhere as weak as people make it out.

The Game is such a beautifully shot movie though. I can deal with flaws like that with such an original premise anyways. It feels too much like The Christmas Carol story though.

****, I even like Prometheus and she could have ran left or right and she would have been fine.

Ok mate, no THAT deserves a face palm. Flawed, yes, that's fair to say. But is far from an atrocity. I actually like it, despite it's pessimism. Have you seen the alternative cut?

I prefer Alien 3 to The Game, my least favourite of Fincher's is Panic Room, though.

It contained one of Kristen Stewart's better performances.

You need to rewatch a lot of his movies if you think he's been unremarkable since going digital.

Alien 3 is my favorite Fincher movie by a mile. Followed by Se7en and then maybe Fight Club.

The workprint version of 'Alien 3' is actually really, really good. It's just too bad it was butchered so much before, and that the the whole thing was handled so horribly behind the scenes that Fincher disowned the film. I love the feel and look of that film, and I'd love to see him do another sci-fi movie. But I love all his work.

+1

Seriously, check out the work print cut of Alien 3, it'll change your opinion of the movie greatly.

Back to the discussion, I'd say Panic Room is his weakest film but it's a solid 'B' compared to mostly 'A's.

Alien³ is potentially my favourite Fincher film. And I think Se7en, Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are all brilliant.
